Campgrounds and RV parks near Hatch, NM

Hatch sits in the Rincon Valley of southern New Mexico along the Rio Grande, about 40 miles north of Las Cruces and roughly halfway between Truth or Consequences and the border. The village is known as the Chile Capital of the World and serves as a practical staging point for RV trips through the middle Rio Grande corridor and I-25. Camping options fall into two groups. In-town and roadside RV parks such as Hatch RV Park and Arrey RV Park LLC offer hookup sites geared to travelers passing through or visiting the chile harvest. Within a short drive north, the New Mexico state park system runs riverside and lakeside campgrounds at Percha Dam State Park, located just south of Caballo Lake State Park on the Rio Grande, and at Caballo Lake State Park, including the Riverside and Apache Flats loops. The area works well for RV travelers who want easy interstate access, cottonwood-shaded sites along the river, and day trips to White Sands, the Gila, and the hot springs in Truth or Consequences.

New Mexico state parks use a single reservation system. Sites at Percha Dam State Park and at the Riverside and Apache Flats campgrounds inside Caballo Lake State Park are booked through the New Mexico State Parks reservation portal on ReserveAmerica, with campsites reservable six months in advance. Some inventory at each park is also held for first-come, first-served use. Percha Dam is administered under the Caballo Lake State Park district, and both parks share the same fire and quiet-hour rules. Private RV parks near the village, including Hatch RV Park and Arrey RV Park LLC, are booked directly with the operator by phone or through their websites. For Labor Day weekend and the surrounding chile harvest, reserve as early as the window opens, and confirm site length and hookup type for larger rigs.
