Campgrounds and RV parks near Bloomfield, NY

Canandaigua Lake anchors the local itinerary. Boat launches, swimming beaches, and Kershaw Park are within a short drive, and the Canandaigua Lady paddlewheel offers lake cruises during the warm months. The Bristol Hills to the south hold Bristol Mountain, which runs a summer aerial adventure park and lift-served mountain biking. Families often pair a campground stay with visits to Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park, Roseland Wake Park, or the CMAC amphitheatre for summer concerts. Ganondagan State Historic Site in nearby Victor covers Seneca heritage with trails and a longhouse. Day trips reach Letchworth State Park, Watkins Glen, and the Finger Lakes wine trails within about an hour, making Bloomfield a workable hub for a multi-day loop.

The Finger Lakes RV season runs roughly from mid-May through mid-October. Most private campgrounds around Bloomfield open around Memorial Day weekend and close after Columbus Day, aligning with New York State Parks' peak camping calendar. Shoulder-season openings depend on overnight temperatures and water-line risk, so early-May and late-October arrivals should confirm hookup availability before booking. July and August bring the warmest lake temperatures, the fullest event calendar, and the tightest campground availability. Weekends around the Fourth of July, the Canandaigua Art and Music Festival, and CMAC concert nights fill first. September delivers cooler nights, thinner crowds, and the start of grape harvest along the wine trails. Winter camping is limited. Snow accumulates quickly off Lake Ontario, and most sites drain water systems by early November. Travellers arriving in the colder months should plan for self-contained operation and verify road access to the campground entrance.

Sites around Bloomfield are typically wooded or partially shaded, on gravel or grass pads. Full hookups with 30- and 50-amp service are common at the larger resorts, while smaller parks may offer water and electric only with a central dump station. Cell coverage is generally reliable on the ridges above the lake and can be spotty in the deeper valleys. Quiet hours, campfire rules, and generator windows are enforced at most private parks. Firewood is usually sold on-site, and outside wood is often restricted to slow the spread of invasive pests. Expect two-lane rural approaches with rolling grades. Drivers of longer rigs should map the final mile before arrival, as some access roads have low bridges or tight turns near the lake.
