Campgrounds and RV parks near Gananda, NY

Gananda is a small master-planned community in Wayne County, New York, sitting inside the towns of Walworth and Macedon about twenty minutes east of Rochester. The area is part of the Finger Lakes region and is bracketed by the Erie Canal to the north and Canandaigua Lake country to the south, which gives RV travelers two different camping landscapes within a short drive. Most commercial RV parks near Gananda cluster along the Erie Canal corridor and the routes running south toward Canandaigua and Bristol Hills. Twilight on the Erie RV Resort in Macedon sits directly on the canal and Erie Canalway Trail, while Canandaigua / Rochester KOA Holiday in Farmington serves as a full-service base for Finger Lakes wine country. Creek-N-Wood RV Park and Campground, Whispering Winds RV and Fun Center, and Bristol Woodlands Campground add wooded, family-oriented options within roughly a half-hour drive. The combination of canal towns, lakes, and rolling farm country makes Gananda a practical launch point for both short weekend trips and longer Finger Lakes tours.

Private RV parks in the Gananda area, including Twilight on the Erie RV Resort and Canandaigua / Rochester KOA Holiday, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. KOA reservations can also be added to a single cart across multiple KOA properties, which helps when stringing together a Finger Lakes route. New York State Park campgrounds use a different system. All reservations must be made using the ReserveAmerica system, and you can get detailed information or make a reservation for any campground by phone at 1-800-456-CAMP (1-800-456-2267). Camping reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance, with sites becoming available at the 9-month window at 8AM Monday through Friday and 9AM Saturday and Sunday from March 15 through Labor Day. For summer weekends, plan to book at the opening of that 9-month window.
