Campgrounds and RV parks near Honeoye Falls, NY

Water access defines most trips. Boaters, anglers, and paddlers use public launches on Honeoye, Canandaigua, and Conesus lakes for bass, walleye, and panfish, and Keuka Lake sits within easy reach for a longer day trip. Hikers can drive south to Letchworth State Park, often called the Grand Canyon of the East, or to Stony Brook and Watkins Glen for gorge trails and waterfalls. Cyclists and families use the Genesee Valley Greenway and the Erie Canalway Trail for flat, car-free riding. The surrounding countryside is dense with wineries, cideries, and farm stands. Canandaigua, Naples, and Hammondsport all sit within an hour and make convenient day trips from a Honeoye Falls campsite.

Seasonal timing strongly influences camping in this region. Most private campgrounds operate from May through October and close after the first hard frosts, so RV trips are best planned inside that window unless a specific park confirms shoulder-season hookups. Summer is peak season and the best time for swimming, wine tasting, and water sports, while leaf-peepers flock to the Finger Lakes state parks in fall. July and August weekends fill first at lakefront and KOA-style parks, and holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) sell out earliest. Spring brings mud, black flies in wooded sites, and cold nights, but also quiet campgrounds and strong trout fishing. Fall foliage typically peaks across the Finger Lakes hills in the first half of October. Winter closes most private campgrounds, though state land remains open for day use, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing on the smaller lakes.

Sites near Honeoye Falls range from full-hookup RV resorts with pools and Wi-Fi to rustic wooded loops with electric only or no hookups. Rig-length limits vary widely, and some older state park loops have tight interior roads and low branches, so confirm maximum length before booking a larger Class A or fifth wheel. Cell coverage is generally reliable in the villages and on main roads but drops in the wooded hills south of Honeoye and Canadice lakes. Grocery, propane, and RV supply runs are easiest in Canandaigua, Victor, or Henrietta. Bears are uncommon this far north of the Southern Tier, but raccoons can be aggressive, so store food inside the RV. Expect biting insects near wetlands from May through July, and pack layers year-round because inland nights cool quickly, even in summer.
