Campgrounds near Little Valley, New York
Little Valley sits in Cattaraugus County in New York's Enchanted Mountains region, a short drive from Salamanca and the northern edge of Allegany State Park in western New York, just north of the Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania. The area is dominated by forested ridges, the Allegheny River corridor, and the Allegheny Reservoir, giving RV travelers a concentrated cluster of public and private campgrounds within a 30 to 45 minute drive of the village.
Most campers base themselves inside Allegany State Park, the largest of New York's state parks with 65,000 acres, with two developed areas, Red House and Quaker, offering sand beaches, hiking trails, museums and naturalist walks. Allegany State Park - Red House Area and Allegany State Park - Cain Hollow anchor the state-park options, while Onoville Marina Park sits on the Allegheny Reservoir to the west and Pope Haven Campground and Allegany Mountain Members Resort round out the private side.
RV renters should note that terrain is hilly and rural roads are winding. Larger rigs are workable but require slower travel and attention to overhead clearance.
