Campgrounds and RV parks near Lyons Falls, NY

Lyons Falls sits in Lewis County at the confluence of the Moose and Black rivers, on the western edge of the Adirondack Park and the eastern side of the Tug Hill Plateau. The location gives RV travelers access to both public state-park camping and family-run private resorts within a short drive. The closest options range from smaller rural sites like Singing Waters Campground and Stysh's Brown Barn Campgrounds to the region's marquee state park, Whetstone Gulf State Park, built around a three-mile gorge cut into the eastern edge of the Tug Hill Plateau. South toward Forestport, Kayuta Lake Campground offers a larger, amenity-heavy waterfront property at the foothills of the Adirondacks, with roughly 160 RV and tent sites, cabin rentals, a marina, and a heated pool. Manestay Stables rounds out the mix for travelers who want horse-related activities on site. Most campgrounds in this corridor operate seasonally from mid-May through mid-October, so shoulder-season planning matters.

Whetstone Gulf State Park uses the New York State Parks reservation system through ReserveAmerica. Sites can be booked online or by calling 1-800-456-2267, up to nine months in advance, and same-day reservations are allowed until 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. Walk-ins are permitted on campsites only. Maximum continuous stay is 14 nights. Kayuta Lake Campground, Singing Waters Campground, Stysh's Brown Barn Campgrounds, and Manestay Stables are privately operated and take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. For summer weekends and holiday periods, book several months out. Cancellation windows and deposit rules vary by property, so confirm terms at the time of booking.
