Campgrounds and RV parks near Schuylerville, NY

Schuylerville sits on the west bank of the Hudson River in Saratoga County, about ten miles east of Saratoga Springs and roughly halfway between Albany and Lake George. The village is best known as the site of the British surrender after the Battles of Saratoga in 1777, and much of the surrounding land is now part of Saratoga National Historical Park. RV travelers use the area as a base for Revolutionary War sites, Hudson River recreation, and day trips into the southern Adirondacks. Campground options range from full-hookup private RV parks to a wooded state park. Saratoga RV Park and Coldbrook RV Resorts sit within a short drive west of the village, while Sun Retreats Adirondack Gateway and Adventure Bound Deer Run offer resort-style amenities aimed at families. Moreau Lake State Park, about ten miles north of Saratoga Springs, provides tent and trailer sites, cabins, and cottages inside a nearly 7,000-acre park with a lake beach. Schuylerville itself is small, so most trips combine village history stops with excursions to Saratoga Springs, Lake George, and Glens Falls.

Moreau Lake State Park is reserved through ReserveAmerica on the New York State Parks system. Reservations must be made at least three days ahead of arrival and can be made up to eleven months in advance. Same-day reservations are allowed until 3 p.m., and walk-ins are permitted at campsites when availability allows. Sun Retreats Adirondack Gateway books through Campspot and the Sun Outdoors website, and much of the park is filled by seasonal renters, so transient RV sites can be limited. Saratoga RV Park, Coldbrook RV Resorts, and Adventure Bound Deer Run take reservations directly by phone or through their own booking pages. For race-meet dates in Saratoga Springs, book six to eight weeks out at minimum. For fall foliage weekends, aim four to six weeks ahead.
