Campgrounds and RV parks near South Dayton, NY

South Dayton sits in Cattaraugus County in the southwestern corner of New York, within easy reach of Lake Erie beaches, the Allegheny Reservoir, and the rolling hills locally branded as the Enchanted Mountains. The area mixes private family campgrounds along the Amish Trail with public sites on the lakefront and the reservoir, so RV travelers can choose between full-hookup resorts and more rustic waterfront stays without long drives. Close-in private options include Pope Haven Campground in Randolph, a pet and child friendly park with cabins, full hook-ups, a pool, swimming and fishing, along with Top-A-Rise Camping Area and Firemans Fraternity Campground. To the north, Evangola State Park on Lake Erie offers a natural sand beach plus 80 campsites, 6 yurts, a cabin and a nature center. For boaters, Onoville Marina Park is a marina and campground on the Allegheny Reservoir, north of the Allegheny National Forest and west of Allegany State Park, making it a practical base for fishing and paddling trips.

State park sites use New York's central reservation system. Reservations for Evangola State Park can be made through ReserveAmerica.com or by calling 1-800-456-CAMP, up to nine months in advance. Sites become available at the 9-month window at 8AM Monday through Friday and 9AM Saturday and Sunday between March 15 and Labor Day, so peak weekends tend to move fast at that opening moment. County and private parks each use their own platforms. Onoville Marina Park campsite reservations are made online through CampSpot, all reservations are paid in full upon booking, and transient sites are limited to a maximum of 30 days within a 60 day period. Pope Haven, Top-A-Rise and Firemans Fraternity accept direct bookings by phone or through their own websites.
