Campgrounds near Broadway, North Carolina
Broadway sits in Lee County in the central North Carolina Piedmont, roughly halfway between Sanford and the southern edge of Jordan Lake. The location gives RV renters practical access to two very different camping systems: the Cape Fear River corridor at Raven Rock State Park to the southeast, and the reservoir shoreline campgrounds at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area to the north.
Raven Rock State Park Campground, officially Moccasin Branch Campground, offers nine RV sites with 50-amp, 30-amp, and 20-amp service plus full water and sewer, with long driveways that can accommodate RVs of all sizes. It also includes 15 drive-to tent sites, 6 cabins, and a bathhouse.
On the Jordan Lake side, Poplar Point offers 579 sites with 363 electric and water hookups, Parkers Creek offers 250 sites with 120 hookups, and Crosswinds offers 182 sites with 134 hookups. For a smaller private option, Goodwins RV Campground provides an alternative closer to the region's rural highways.
Things to do near Broadway
Raven Rock State Park is built around a 150-foot crystalline structure that overlooks the Cape Fear River. Alternate hikes toward the river reward visitors with landmarks like Lanier Rapids, Fish Traps Rapids, and the remains of the Northington Lock and Dam. The park also offers bridle trails and bike trails, along with paddling and fishing access.
Jordan Lake State Recreation Area offers more than 1,000 campsites at five accesses, with tent, trailer, and RV options. The boat ramps at Poplar Point, Crosswinds, and Parkers Creek are exclusively for the use of registered campers. Each of those campgrounds also has its own swim beach for guests. The lake is one of the largest summertime homes of the bald eagle, and an observation platform makes for easy spotting.

Winter is quieter but far from closed. Raven Rock's Moccasin Branch Campground is open year round. At Jordan Lake, one of the three main campgrounds, Crosswinds, Parkers Creek, or Poplar Point, will be open year round. Not all camping areas are open year round, so check the park's operating season schedule before travel.

We had a great time with our camper van rental. It was very clean and well maintained. The van was completely stocked with everything we needed to enjoy a weekend by the lake. The owner gave us a thorough orientation of all of the vans systems. We highly recommended renting “Roy” the Solis camper van.
