Campgrounds and RV parks near Buies Creek, NC

Buies Creek sits in Harnett County in central North Carolina, roughly 40 miles southwest of Raleigh and about 45 minutes from Fayetteville. It is home to Campbell University and lies within easy reach of the Cape Fear River corridor, which shapes the local recreation options for RV travellers. The closest state-park camping is at Raven Rock State Park Campground, whose Moccasin Branch facility offers nine RV sites with full hookups, fifteen drive-to tent sites, and six rustic camper cabins in a forest of mixed pines and hardwoods. Private RV parks in the surrounding area include RV Campground and Storage Tucker Lake, Fayetteville RV Resort and Cottages just off I-95, and smaller options such as 70 East RV and Mobile Home Park and Coopers Mobile Home Park and RVs. The mix works well for a range of trips: a weekend of hiking and paddling near the Cape Fear River, an I-95 stopover on the run between the Northeast and Florida, or an extended stay near Fort Bragg.

Raven Rock State Park Campground takes reservations only, with no walk-ups permitted. Bookings open up to six months in advance through the North Carolina State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica, and same-day reservations are possible when sites are available. Cabins require a two-night minimum, and a two-night minimum also applies to Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday stays on the Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day holiday weekends. A single site can be reserved for a maximum of 14 consecutive nights within any 30-day period, after which the camper must vacate the park for 16 nights. Same-day cancellations must be made by phone and incur an extra night's charge, and cabin cancellations require at least 14 days' notice. Private parks such as Fayetteville RV Resort and Cottages book directly through the operator and offer both nightly and long-term stays.
