Campgrounds and RV parks near Wagram, NC

Wagram sits in Scotland County in the Sandhills of southern North Carolina, roughly an hour south of Fayetteville and within easy reach of Laurinburg, Southern Pines, and the South Carolina line. The Lumber River flows past town, and much of the local camping revolves around that blackwater river and the longleaf-pine landscape around it. The closest headline public campground is the Chalk Banks access of Lumber River State Park, just north of town. The park covers land in Columbus, Robeson, Scotland, and Hoke counties, and the Lumber River carries federal designation as a National Wild and Scenic River, the only blackwater river in the state to hold that status. Around Wagram itself, RV renters will find a mix of small private options such as Idlewild Farm Stays, Lake Waldos Beach Campground, and Daily Walk Stables and Campground. For larger-resort amenities, Sycamore Lodge Resort lies northwest in the Sandhills near Pinehurst, and the Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey sits southeast along Interstate 95, useful for travelers routing between the Northeast and Florida.

Lumber River State Park sites at Chalk Banks are reserved through the North Carolina State Parks system on ReserveAmerica, which opens bookings up to six months in advance. Sites go quickly for spring and fall weekends, so book as soon as your window opens when possible. A two-night minimum applies on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends. Private parks each use their own systems. Sycamore Lodge Resort is a Travel Resorts of America member-based campground, so non-member availability can be limited during peak season from mid-May through mid-September; call ahead or book through the resort site. Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey books through KOA.com, and smaller local options like Idlewild Farm Stays, Lake Waldos Beach Campground, and Daily Walk Stables and Campground are typically reserved directly with the operator or via Hipcamp-style listings.
