Campgrounds and RV parks near Castalia, OH

Castalia sits in Erie County just southwest of Sandusky, a short drive from Lake Erie's southern shore and the Cedar Point peninsula. The village is best known for the Castalia State Fish Hatchery and the surrounding Resthaven Wildlife Area, and it functions as a quieter inland base for RV travelers who still want quick access to the bay, the islands, and the amusement parks. Options within roughly ten miles range from full-service RV resorts to smaller family parks. Camp Sandusky sits near the OH-2 and OH-101 interchange, giving direct highway access to Cedar Point and the ferry docks. Crystal Rock Campground is a long-established private park closer to the lake, while Kamp Kozy offers a smaller-scale alternative on the Castalia side. Closer to the water, Sandusky/Bayshore KOA Holiday and Camper Village Lighthouse Point put visitors near Sandusky Bay and Cedar Point's beach frontage. Together they cover the range most families need: pull-through RV sites, cabins, pools, and organized activities within a short drive of Castalia.

Private campgrounds around Castalia, including Camp Sandusky, Crystal Rock Campground, Kamp Kozy, Sandusky/Bayshore KOA Holiday, and Camper Village Lighthouse Point, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends, Cedar Point event weekends, and holiday stays often sell out two to three months in advance, so lock in dates early and confirm the RV length and hookup type the site requires. For Ohio State Park campgrounds within driving distance, such as East Harbor and Kelleys Island, reservations are handled through reserveohio.com or by calling the state's reservation line. Ohio State Parks release campsite inventory up to six months ahead of the arrival date, and popular Lake Erie sites can go quickly at the release moment.
