River activities dominate the local calendar. The Ohio River shoreline near Dry Run supports fishing, kayaking, and powerboating, with public ramps a short drive from Tuckers Landing RV Park and Riverfront RV Park. Families typically split time between city attractions and county parks. The Cincinnati Zoo, Newport Aquarium, Kings Island, and the Cincinnati Museum Center are all inside a 30-minute drive, and Hamilton County Parks such as Winton Woods offer paved bike trails, boat rentals, and playgrounds. At AJ Jolly Park & Campground, there are 20 miles of equestrian trails as well as a few miles of hiker-only trails, plus an 18-hole golf course and disc golf. Note that the lake is closed in 2026 with fishing prohibited. Hikers can also reach Bender Mountain, California Woods, and the Little Miami Scenic Trail within the metro.

The Cincinnati region has a four-season humid climate. Summers are warm and humid, the winters are very cold and snowy, and it is partly cloudy year round, with rainfall spread across the year and a peak in late spring. Cincinnati averages around 45 inches of precipitation per year. Late spring through early fall is the practical RV season. May brings the wettest conditions and occasional thunderstorms, but campgrounds are fully open and Ohio River levels usually settle into a stable range. July is the warmest month, with an average daily high temperature of 85.7 °F and an average low of 66.0 °F, and humidity makes heat indices feel higher. September and October offer cooler nights, lower rainfall, and fall colour through the Ohio and Kentucky hills. Winter is a shoulder-to-closed season. Many private RV parks near Dry Run remain open year-round for self-contained rigs, while public campgrounds close for the cold months. The coldest nights of winter at Cincinnati drop down to 0 °F or below. From November to March, Cincinnati can remain below freezing all day long, with typically 22 days a year when the temperature never rises above 32 °F.

Expect small-to-midsize RV parks rather than resort campuses. Sites at the closest properties tend to be back-in or pull-through with 30 or 50 amp electric, water, and a dump station on premises; full hookups are common but not universal. Site widths are modest and shade varies by park. Cincinnati Campsites is a compact park geared to travelling RVs, with electric, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Hidden Valley RV Park and Storage and similar parks lean toward self-contained units and long-stay guests, so tent camping is often not permitted. AJ Jolly Park & Campground offers a wider mix. RV sites have water and 20/30 amp electric service, picnic table and fire ring with no sewer hookups, sites 20-46 are best suited for pop-ups and small campers due to tight turning radius, and sites 47-53 and The Point have 50 amp electric service. Cell service is generally solid across the region, and grocery, fuel, and RV supply stops are within a short drive of every listed park.
