Campgrounds and RV parks near Huber Ridge, OH

Huber Ridge sits in Franklin County just northeast of Columbus, putting RV renters within a short drive of both public lakeside camping and private family resorts. The largest draw is Alum Creek State Park, about a 30-minute drive north of Columbus on a large reservoir with a full-service state campground, cabins, and a swimming beach. Private options fill in the gaps. Cross Creek Camping Resort sits across the road from Alum Creek State Park. Sunbury / Columbus North KOA Holiday provides another full-hookup base along the I-71 corridor, while Berkshire Campgrounds and Berkshire Lake Campground offer quieter, lake-oriented stays a bit farther out in Delaware County. Together these five properties cover the main use cases for RV renters in central Ohio: a state park for beach and boating access, resort-style parks for families who want pools and activity programming, and smaller lake campgrounds for a slower pace close to Columbus attractions.

Ohio state parks use a single reservation system. Reservations at Alum Creek State Park are required and may be made up to six months in advance, online at reserveohio.com or by calling 866-644-6727, and there is no self-registration or walk-in option. Reservations open at 7 a.m. on the six-month rolling date, and sites can fill quickly, so booking early is advised for peak season and holiday weekends. Private parks book directly. Cross Creek Camping Resort, Sunbury / Columbus North KOA Holiday, Berkshire Campgrounds, and Berkshire Lake Campground each take reservations through their own websites or by phone. KOA Holiday properties also accept bookings through koa.com. Minimum-night rules are common on summer and holiday weekends at the private resorts, so check the operator site before finalizing plans.
