Campgrounds near New Richmond, Ohio
New Richmond sits on the north bank of the Ohio River in Clermont County, about 25 minutes southeast of downtown Cincinnati. The area combines river-town camping with access to one of Ohio's largest state parks, plus several Northern Kentucky parks a short drive across the river.
Riverfront RV Park is in downtown New Richmond itself, with full-hookup sites along the Ohio River shoreline. Tuckers Landing RV Park offers another riverfront option closer to Cincinnati, with full hookups and marina access. For state-park camping, East Fork State Park Campground lies just north near Batavia, wrapped around the 2,160-acre William H. Harsha Lake, one of the largest state parks in Ohio at 4,870 acres.
Across the river in Kentucky, AJ Jolly Park & Campground occupies roughly 1,000 acres in Campbell County with a fishing lake and equestrian trails, though campers should confirm current campground status directly before booking. Kincaid Lake State Park sits farther south in Pendleton County with a wooded campground on a 183-acre lake. Together these give RV renters a mix of riverfront, reservoir, and rural-lake options within an hour of the New Richmond area.
Things to do near New Richmond
Water recreation drives most trips here. William H. Harsha Lake at East Fork State Park allows unlimited-horsepower boating and holds bass, crappie, catfish, and hybrid striped bass, with a 1,200-foot swimming beach. Kincaid Lake caps motors at 10 horsepower and rents paddle boats, canoes, and jon boats, which suits families with younger kids.
On land, East Fork carries the 33-mile Steve Newman Perimeter Trail plus shorter loops for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, and includes two archery ranges and a nature center. AJ Jolly Park offers about 20 miles of equestrian trails, an 18-hole disc golf course, an 18-hole golf course, and an environmental education center covering more than 50 acres. New Richmond itself has a walkable riverfront, and Grant's Birthplace is nearby in Point Pleasant.

Peak season runs from Memorial Day through mid-October. Summer weekends at East Fork State Park Campground fill fast, particularly the electric and full-hookup loops, and holiday weekends often book to capacity. Late spring brings the region's wettest stretch, with May typically the rainiest month averaging close to five inches of rain, so expect muddy trails and possible thunderstorms.
Fall is the sweet spot for many RV renters. Days stay comfortable into October, humidity drops, bugs thin out, and hardwood color usually peaks mid to late October across southern Ohio and northern Kentucky.
Winter camping is possible but limited. Kentucky State Parks cannot guarantee water availability at Kincaid Lake during freezing temperatures, and campers should contact the park directly before traveling in cold months. Riverfront and private parks along the Ohio River may operate year-round but can be affected by high-water events after heavy winter and spring rain. AJ Jolly Park & Campground status can change year to year, so travelers should confirm campground and lake availability with Campbell County Parks before planning a stay.

How to book campgrounds near New Richmond
Reservation systems vary by park. East Fork State Park Campground books through the Ohio State Parks system at ReserveOhio.com, with sites available online or by phone up to six months in advance. Walk-in registration is not offered, so a reservation is required. Booking early is strongly recommended for summer weekends and holidays.
Kincaid Lake State Park uses the Kentucky State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica, accepting bookings from one day up to twelve months out. Kentucky State Parks prohibit importing firewood from outside the state, and firewood is sold on-site.
Private parks operate on their own platforms. Riverfront RV Park and Tuckers Landing RV Park take reservations directly through their own websites or booking partners. AJ Jolly Park & Campground reservations are handled by Campbell County Parks, and travelers should call the park directly to confirm current campground status before planning a stay.
What to expect on-site
Hookup availability differs sharply between parks. Riverfront RV Park and Tuckers Landing RV Park offer full hookups with 30 and 50-amp service. East Fork State Park Campground has around 416 sites mixing electric-only, full-hookup, and primitive options across multiple loops, so verify which loop and address before arrival since the park has two separate entrance areas.
Kincaid Lake State Park has 84 electric sites with water hookups plus 75 primitive tent sites, a central bathhouse, laundry, camp store, and a dump station. Pull-through sites are available but limited. Some sites can be uneven, so leveling blocks are worth packing.
Quiet hours, leash rules for pets, and firewood restrictions apply at most parks in the region. Cell coverage is generally reliable close to Cincinnati but can drop in wooded state-park loops.

If a host cancels, RVezy refunds guests or provides travel credits, and the support team is reachable before, during, and after your trip. Exact cancellation terms are shown during checkout based on your trip dates and how far in advance you cancel. Pro tip: if Ohio River flooding or severe storms are in the forecast around your dates, contact RVezy support early. help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a New Richmond RV rental?
Absolutely, and finding a pet-friendly RV rental in New Richmond is easy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see hosts who happily welcome dogs (some accept cats too). Many charge a small pet fee, which you'll see upfront before booking. Once you're on the road, your pup will love the riverside trails at Crooked Run Nature Preserve right in New Richmond, and East Fork State Park 20 minutes north has miles of leash-friendly hiking. Shor-Kon Campground and several local parks also allow leashed pets. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet details and ask about nearby vet clinics. Clermont County has several within a 15-minute drive of town, so you're covered if anything comes up.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/east-fork-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campground in New Richmond?
Yes, RV delivery in New Richmond is offered by many hosts, and it's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Filter by Delivery on RVezy and you'll find owners who'll drive the rig to East Fork State Park, Stonelick State Park, your riverside rental cabin, or even your driveway. They'll level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through the systems so you can step in and start your vacation. Delivery fees typically run $2 to $5 per mile from the host's location, and some include free delivery within a set radius. Pro tip: delivery is the smartest choice for families towing kids and gear, or anyone who'd rather skip backing a 30-foot rig into a wooded site.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=New%20Richmond%2C%20OhioHow far can I drive on a New Richmond RV trip?
You've got plenty of room to roam. Each host sets their own mileage policy, and you'll find listings ranging from 100 free miles per night to RV rental with unlimited mileage. From New Richmond, popular drives include Cincinnati (25 miles), Red River Gorge in Kentucky (140 miles), Hocking Hills State Park (130 miles), Mammoth Cave National Park (220 miles), and the Great Smoky Mountains (290 miles). For longer adventures, Nashville sits about 280 miles south. Pro tip: if you're planning a Hocking Hills or Smokies loop, filter for unlimited mileage upfront to skip overage worries (typically $0.30 to $0.50 per extra mile). It's a small filter change that can save you real money on a week-long road trip from New Richmond.
transportation.ohio.gov/Where are the best campgrounds near New Richmond, OH?
You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near New Richmond include East Fork State Park (20 minutes north, full hookups, swimming beach, and 416-site capacity on Harsha Lake), Stonelick State Park (35 minutes northeast, quiet wooded sites with electric hookups), Cincinnati East KOA Holiday in Williamsburg (full hookups, pool, and family activities), and Winton Woods Campground in the Cincinnati park system (electric and water sites near a lake). Across the river, General Butler State Resort Park in Kentucky offers riverside sites just 45 minutes away. Pro tip: East Fork books fast for summer weekends (especially July 4 and Labor Day), so reserve as soon as your dates are set. Riverside spots facing the lake go first.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/east-fork-state-parkWhen is the best time for an RV trip from New Richmond?
Late April through mid-June and September through mid-October are the sweet spots for RV camping in New Richmond. Spring brings 60s to mid-70s and blooming dogwoods along the Ohio River, while fall delivers crisp 50s to 70s and stunning foliage through the surrounding hills. Summer (June to August) is warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s and occasional thunderstorms (great for swimming at East Fork, but pack the AC plan). Winters dip into the 20s to 40s with occasional snow, so check if your host offers winterized rigs if you're booking December through February. Pro tip: the River Days festival in September and Cincinnati's fall events draw crowds, so book your New Richmond RV rental at least 6 weeks ahead for prime fall dates.
weather.gov/iln/I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in New Richmond?
You'll be just fine, and New Richmond is a great spot for a first time renting an RV. Roads here are wide, traffic is light compared to downtown Cincinnati, and US-52 along the river is flat and scenic, perfect for getting comfortable behind the wheel. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving tips, hookups, slide-outs, and dump procedures, so you're never left guessing. If you'd rather skip driving altogether, choose a host who offers delivery and setup. Pro tip: start with a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan rental in New Richmond for your first trip, then graduate to a Class A once you've got a few nights under your belt. East Fork State Park's pull-through sites are ideal for beginners.
rvezy.com/rv-rental/ohioWhat if I break down during my New Richmond RV trip?
Take a breath: you're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so one phone call gets help on the way whether you're parked outside New Richmond, climbing toward Hocking Hills, or rolling through Kentucky bluegrass country. Roadside support handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery. RVezy's customer support team is also available around the clock for host communication or last-minute questions. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before you leave the driveway, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and license plate so dispatch has what they need fast.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my New Richmond RV rental across state lines or to Canada?
Yes, crossing state lines is built into the New Richmond RV experience. You're just minutes from the Kentucky border via the Ohio River bridges, and Indiana is less than an hour west. Popular interstate trips include Red River Gorge, KY; Mammoth Cave, KY; French Lick, IN; and the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Canada travel is allowed with many hosts, but you'll want to confirm with your host before booking and bring your passport. Travel to Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana tri-state region has some of the best riverside RV camping in the Midwest, and a 3-state weekend loop from New Richmond is totally doable in 3 to 4 days.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat's the fuel budget for a New Richmond RV road trip?
Easier to plan than you'd think. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes run 10 to 14 MPG, and Class A rigs sit around 7 to 10 MPG. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle but generally drop your truck's MPG by 30 to 40 percent. Ohio gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, hovering around $3.20 to $3.60 per gallon in the Cincinnati area. For a 4-night, 300-mile RV road trip from New Richmond in a Class C, budget roughly $90 to $130 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Ohio before crossing into Kentucky or Indiana, where prices can fluctuate, and use apps like GasBuddy to spot the cheapest stations along US-52 and I-275.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near New Richmond?
For Ohio state parks like East Fork and Stonelick, book through the Ohio State Parks reservation system as soon as your dates are locked, especially for Memorial Day through Labor Day and any fall foliage weekend in October. State parks open reservations up to 6 months in advance and prime lakefront sites can be gone within hours of release. Private parks like Cincinnati East KOA usually have more availability but still fill quickly on holiday weekends. For shoulder season (April, May, late September), 2 to 3 weeks ahead is usually enough. Pro tip: if East Fork is fully booked, check daily for cancellations (especially Sunday and Monday mornings), or pivot to Stonelick State Park, which often has openings even on busy weekends.
reservations.ohiostateparks.org/What are the driving conditions like around New Richmond?
Mostly easy, with a few things to know. New Richmond sits along US-52 (the Ohio River Scenic Byway), a flat two-lane road that's perfect for relaxed RV cruising with sweeping river views. Heading into Cincinnati on I-275 or I-471 brings urban traffic, so plan to avoid weekday rush hours (7 to 9 AM and 4 to 6 PM). The hills east toward Hocking Hills and south into Kentucky involve some grades but nothing extreme. Watch for occasional flooding on low-lying river roads during heavy spring rains. Pro tip: if you're nervous about Cincinnati bridges and downtown clearances, stick to I-275 (the outer loop) and skip the Brent Spence Bridge during peak hours. Most RVs under 13'6" clear all major bridges in the area without issue.
transportation.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/odot/What amenities do campgrounds near New Richmond offer?
You'll find plenty of comfort options. East Fork State Park offers full hookups (water, electric, and sewer) at many sites, a dump station, hot showers, swimming beach, and a camp store. Stonelick State Park provides electric sites with a centralized dump station and potable water fills. Cincinnati East KOA goes full resort with pool, mini-golf, full hookups, Wi-Fi, and propane refills onsite. For dump stations, East Fork and the Pilot/Flying J in nearby Amelia (about 15 minutes away) are reliable stops. Fresh water fills are available at all state parks for free with your camping reservation. Pro tip: not every site at East Fork has sewer hookups, so if you want to avoid a dump station run, filter specifically for full-hookup sites when reserving.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/east-fork-state-parkWhat's included inside a New Richmond RV rental?
More than you might expect. Most RVs on RVezy come fully equipped with comfortable beds (sleeping 2 to 8 depending on size), a full kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, dining seating with seatbelts for travel, air conditioning, heating, and propane for cooking. Many hosts also include a TV, Wi-Fi hotspot or 4G booster, outdoor camp chairs, an awning, and basic kitchenware. Generators are common in Class A and Class C motorhomes, perfect for boondocking nights. Pro tip: ask your host upfront about linens, towels, and kitchen kits, some include them free, others charge a small add-on. For a family RV trip from New Richmond, confirm seatbelt count matches your group size before booking.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safetyWhat add-ons and pickup options are available for New Richmond RV rentals?
Lots of ways to customize your trip. Popular add-ons from New Richmond hosts include linen and towel packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits ($25 to $50), camp chairs, outdoor grills, bike racks, generators, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Many hosts offer delivery and setup ($2 to $5 per mile), generator use (often $5 to $10 per hour beyond included hours), and pet cleaning fees ($50 to $100). Pickup is typically scheduled directly with your host at their location, with mileage policies ranging from 100 miles per night to unlimited. Pro tip: bundle delivery, linens, and a kitchen kit when booking. It costs a bit more upfront but means you arrive at East Fork or Stonelick, unlock the door, and your vacation starts immediately: no setup, no shopping, no stress.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=New%20Richmond%2C%20OhioHow does payment and the security deposit work for a New Richmond RV rental?
Simple and transparent. When you book through RVezy, you pay securely through the platform (never directly to the host), with a portion charged at booking and the balance typically due before your trip. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment before pickup, with the amount depending on the RV and protection plan you choose. The deposit is released after the trip assuming no damage or policy violations. Pro tip: do a thorough pre-trip walkthrough video with your host at pickup, capturing existing scratches, dings, and the interior condition. Send it to yourself via text so it's timestamped. This 5-minute habit is the single best way to ensure your full deposit comes back fast after your New Richmond RV adventure wraps.
