Campgrounds and RV parks near Wilson, OK

Wilson sits in Carter County in south-central Oklahoma, roughly a half-hour west of Ardmore and within easy reach of Lake Murray State Park, Oklahoma's first and largest state park, which covers 12,500 acres of forested, rolling hills around Lake Murray and draws water-sport, ATV and trail-riding visitors. That proximity shapes the local RV scene: most travellers use Wilson as a quieter base for the lake, the Arbuckle foothills, and the Red River corridor to the south. RV options close to town include Wilson Christmas Tree Farm and RV Park, Red River Rose RV Resort, By The Lake RV Resort, Cool Breeze RV Cinema and Resort, and Horseshoe Acres RV Park. These privately operated parks typically offer full hookups and pull-through sites, which suits travellers who want reliable power and water rather than the more rustic loops inside the state park. Inside Lake Murray State Park itself, nine campgrounds hold roughly 321 RV sites and 165 tent sites, with full hookups available at many RV sites plus restrooms and shower houses, giving families flexibility depending on whether they want lakefront access or an in-town base near Wilson.

For sites inside Lake Murray State Park, book through the Oklahoma State Parks reservation system on TravelOK or ReserveAmerica. Reservations must be made at least one day ahead of arrival and can be booked up to 11 months in advance. Campsites can fill fast, especially on summer and holiday weekends, so booking a minimum of three months in advance is recommended. Pay attention to cancellation rules and read the current reservation guidelines before paying a deposit. Privately run parks around Wilson, such as Wilson Christmas Tree Farm and RV Park, Red River Rose RV Resort, By The Lake RV Resort, Cool Breeze RV Cinema and Resort, and Horseshoe Acres RV Park, are booked directly with the operator and often have shorter lead times and their own cancellation policies.
