Campgrounds and RV parks near Boardman, OR

Boardman sits on the south bank of the Columbia River in Morrow County, roughly three hours east of Portland along Interstate 84. The town is a practical base for RV travelers crossing eastern Oregon, with high-desert terrain, irrigated farmland, and direct river access defining the surrounding landscape. Close-in options include Oregon Trail RV Park, Panelview RV Park, and the public Umatilla Marina and RV Park about 15 miles east on the Columbia. Pioneer RV Park in nearby Hermiston handles larger rigs with pull-through, full-hookup sites, and Wine Country RV Park serves travelers heading into the Washington wine region across the river in Prosser. Elevations along the river corridor run roughly 250 to 400 feet, which keeps the area accessible year-round for RVs, though water systems at some parks are winterized during freezing months. Most sites in the area are gravel or paved with full or partial hookups, and the corridor is convenient for one-night stops as well as multi-day stays focused on the river, fishing, and nearby wineries.

Private parks in and around Boardman, including Oregon Trail RV Park, Panelview RV Park, Pioneer RV Park, and Wine Country RV Park, take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Booking several weeks ahead is recommended for summer weekends and during major events in the Tri-Cities and Pendleton. Umatilla Marina and RV Park is operated by the City of Umatilla and accepts reservations online or by calling the park office, with both full-hookup RV sites and tent-only sites available. Oregon State Parks campgrounds in the broader region are booked through Reserve America, with new reservations accepted from the same day as arrival through six months in advance and new sites coming online daily at 6 a.m. Pacific. U.S. Forest Service and other federal sites in the surrounding area are booked through Recreation.gov, also up to six months in advance.
