Campgrounds and RV parks near West Brownsville, PA

West Brownsville sits along the Monongahela River in Washington County, southwestern Pennsylvania, about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh at the intersection of Interstate 70 and U.S. Route 40. The town works as a practical base for RV travelers exploring the Mon Valley, the Laurel Highlands, and the northern edge of the West Virginia panhandle, with Interstates 79 and 70 meeting just south of town, putting West Virginia, the Laurel Highlands, and the Ohio River all within an easy drive. Campground options range from small private parks to full-service commercial resorts and nearby state park sites. Firehouse RV Campgrounds and The Blue Canoe RV Resort offer closer-in stays, while Madison/Pittsburgh SE KOA Journey and Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA Journey provide the amenities most rental RVs need: full hookups, dump stations, and pull-thru sites for larger rigs. Fox Den Acres Campgrounds gives a more traditional family-campground option a short drive east. The surrounding terrain is rolling and wooded, and roads into the campgrounds south of Pittsburgh wind through wooded hills. Some final approaches are narrow, so plan routing carefully for longer motorhomes and fifth-wheels.

Pennsylvania state park sites use a central reservation system. Most campsites in Pennsylvania state parks can be reserved up to 11 months in advance to noon of the day of arrival, with the balance held for first-come, first-served walk-ups. Ohiopyle's Kentuck Campground and nearby state park cottages and yurts are booked through the same portal. Commercial parks handle their own bookings. Madison/Pittsburgh SE KOA Journey and Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA Journey take reservations directly through the KOA website or by phone. Smaller parks including Firehouse RV Campgrounds, The Blue Canoe RV Resort, and Fox Den Acres Campgrounds generally handle bookings by phone or through their own websites. Confirm rig length, hookup type, and check-in hours before arrival.
