Campgrounds and RV parks near Bishopville, SC

Bishopville sits in Lee County in the Sandhills-to-Coastal-Plain transition of central South Carolina, about a half-hour east of Camden and roughly an hour from Columbia. The town is the seat of Lee County and lies alongside the Lynches River corridor, giving RV travelers quick access to bottomland hardwood forest, sand roads, and quiet rural highways off I-20 and I-95. The area's anchor campground is Lee State Park, a South Carolina State Park set on the Lynches River just outside town. Lee State Park is well known for its equestrian facilities and floodplain forest scenery. Additional nearby options include The Farm Campground toward McBee, Standing Pines outside Hartsville, and Columbia / Camden RV Park to the west. Farther afield, H Cooper Black Jr Memorial Recreational Area near Cheraw serves horse and dog-sport travelers with 27 hookup sites on 7,000 acres of longleaf pine. Together these parks cover the range most RV renters need: full-hookup pull-throughs, state park loops with electric and water, and quieter rural sites for weekend base camps.

South Carolina state parks, including Lee State Park and H Cooper Black, are booked through the South Carolina State Parks reservation system online or by calling 1-866-345-PARK. Reservations can be made up to 13 months in advance, and a two-night minimum typically applies. Requests less than one day before arrival must be handled directly with the park office. Private parks such as Standing Pines, The Farm Campground, and Columbia / Camden RV Park take bookings directly through their own websites or by phone, and many also list availability on third-party platforms. Book early for holiday weekends, spring wildflower season, and any weekend with a scheduled field trial or retriever event at H Cooper Black, as those dates draw regional traffic and can fill the equestrian loops months out.
