Campgrounds and RV parks near Blackville, SC

Blackville sits in Barnwell County in the western part of South Carolina's coastal plain, roughly an hour south of Columbia and within easy reach of Augusta, Georgia. The area is rural and flat, threaded by the South Edisto and Salkehatchie rivers, with pine forests, blackwater creeks, and small lakes shaping most of the outdoor options. RV travelers have a mix of state park and private campground choices within a short drive. Barnwell State Park is the closest public option and was one of the 16 original South Carolina state parks built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Aiken State Park lies to the northwest near Windsor along the South Fork of the Edisto River. Private options include River Bottom Farms Family Campground north toward Swansea, Broxton Bridge Plantation to the southeast near Ehrhardt along the Salkehatchie River, and Cedar Creek Resort Clothing Optional for adult travelers. Most campgrounds in the area stay open year-round, and sites suitable for larger RVs are available at each of the major nearby parks.

South Carolina state park sites at Barnwell State Park and Aiken State Park are reserved through the state parks system, either online at the official reservations portal or by calling the toll-free reservations line at 1-866-345-PARK. Bookings can be made up to 13 months in advance. Reservations requested less than one day before check-in must be arranged directly with the park. Private campgrounds handle their own reservations. River Bottom Farms Family Campground books through its own website, and Broxton Bridge Plantation takes reservations by phone through the plantation office. For spring and fall weekends, book state park sites several months out. Full-hookup and 50-amp sites are the first to fill, particularly the sewer-equipped loop at Barnwell State Park.
