Campgrounds and RV parks near Bonneau Beach, SC

Bonneau Beach sits on the western shore of Lake Moultrie in Berkeley County, roughly 40 miles north of Charleston. The lake covers about 60,000 acres, and together with neighboring Lake Marion it forms the Santee Cooper reservoir system, one of the largest freshwater fisheries in the Southeast. RV travelers use Bonneau Beach as a lakefront base for boating, fishing, and quiet shoreline camping without the crowds of the coast. Most campgrounds in the area are privately run and oriented toward anglers and families with boats. Angel's Landing Campground Restaurant and Marina and the adjacent Angel's Landing Campground offer marina access and an on-site restaurant, while Lake Moultrie RV Park & Marina and Hill's Landing & RV Park provide direct waterfront sites with boat launches. Rocks Pond Campground and Marina sits a short drive north on Lake Marion and functions as a larger destination resort. The surrounding Santee Cooper Country is rural. Expect pine and hardwood forest, dike-top service roads, and quiet county highways connecting the launches, boat ramps, and small marinas that ring the lake.

The campgrounds around Bonneau Beach are privately operated, so bookings are made directly with each property rather than through Recreation.gov or a state-park portal. Angel's Landing Campground, Lake Moultrie RV Park & Marina, and Hill's Landing & RV Park take reservations by phone or through their own websites; call ahead if requesting a waterfront pull-through or a site with 50-amp service. Rocks Pond Campground and Marina is open year round, though its store is closed from Thanksgiving until March 1st while the campground remains open for camping, and reservations during that period are made on its dedicated reservations line. Holiday reservations for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day must be paid in full at time of reservation and carry a three-night minimum. Book those holidays several weeks in advance.
