Campgrounds and RV parks near Branchville, SC

Branchville sits in the middle of South Carolina's Lowcountry, roughly an hour inland from Charleston and within easy reach of the Edisto River corridor. The town is small, but the surrounding Dorchester, Colleton, and Orangeburg counties hold a mix of state park camping, private RV parks, and I-95 stopover options that work well for renters traveling between the Northeast and Florida. The closest full-service public option is Colleton State Park, a Lowcountry park a short distance from I-95 that provides easy access to the Edisto River and serves as the headquarters for the Edisto River canoe and kayak trail. Private choices in the area include St George RV Park behind hotel, Eagle's RV Park, Outside Inn Campground, and Shellring RV Park, giving renters both quick highway pull-throughs and longer-stay bases. Most sites in the region are wooded and flat, with pine shade and packed sand or gravel pads. Cell service is generally reliable along the I-95 and I-26 corridors, and grocery stops are available in Saint George, Walterboro, and Orangeburg.

For state park sites, use the official South Carolina State Parks reservation system. Reservations may be made up to 13 months in advance, and reservations are for a specific park and cannot be transferred from one park to another. Campsite rentals are typically accepted for a two-night minimum, and minimum stays may be increased during busier periods. The reservations desk can be reached at 1-866-345-PARK (7275), or the Colleton park office directly at 843-538-8206. Private parks such as St George RV Park behind hotel, Eagle's RV Park, Outside Inn Campground, and Shellring RV Park typically take reservations directly by phone or through their websites. Book spring and fall weekends several weeks ahead, especially around major holidays and Charleston-area events. Weekday stopovers along I-95 are usually easier to secure on short notice.
