Campgrounds and RV parks near Cane Savannah, SC

Cane Savannah sits in Sumter County, in the South Carolina Midlands between the Sandhills and the coastal plain. RV travelers use it as a base for two very different landscapes: the pine-oak ridges and mill ponds of the High Hills of Santee immediately west, and Lake Marion, the largest lake in South Carolina, about a half-hour south along the Santee Cooper chain. The closest option is Poinsett State Park, set in the High Hills of Santee where the Sandhills meet the coastal plain. South toward Lake Marion, RV travelers have several choices clustered near the town of Santee, including Cypress View - Santee State Park, Palmetto Shores RV Resort, and Santee / Santee Lakes KOA Journey. North of Cane Savannah, Columbia / Camden RV Park in Lugoff serves travelers moving between Columbia and the coast. The mix suits most trip styles: shaded state-park loops with basic hookups, full-service private resorts on Lake Marion, and pull-through interstate stopovers for one-night stays.

South Carolina state parks use a single central reservation system. For Poinsett State Park and Cypress View - Santee State Park, reservations may be made up to 13 months in advance, and reservations requested less than one day before check-in must be made directly through the park. Weekends from March through October, and any holiday, book out early; lakefront sites at Cypress View are the first to go. Palmetto Shores RV Resort and Santee / Santee Lakes KOA Journey take reservations directly through their own websites and standard campground booking platforms. Columbia / Camden RV Park handles bookings through its own site and by phone, with nightly, weekly, and monthly stays available. Check length limits before booking a large rig. Some sites at Poinsett accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, and Cypress View has larger, level pads better suited to bigger rigs.
