Campgrounds and RV parks near Edisto, SC

Edisto sits in the Midlands of South Carolina, within a short drive of Lake Marion, the Edisto River corridor, and Interstate 26. The area blends state park camping with private RV parks, giving renters options for lakefront stays, farm-style family campgrounds, and quick interstate stopovers between Charleston and Columbia. Santee State Park offers two distinct camping areas: Cypress View Campground with 50 sites on the west side and Lakeshore Campground with 108 sites on the east side. Both campgrounds feature packed sand sites with individual water and electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings with grills. The campgrounds cater to both tent campers and RVers, with many sites accommodating rigs up to 40 feet. Facilities include restrooms with hot showers, a dump station, and WiFi throughout the park. Private parks nearby include Sweetwater Lake Campground, Outside Inn Campground, River Bottom Farms Family Campground, and St George RV Park behind hotel, useful for travelers moving along I-26 or I-95. Most sites in the region are level with packed sand or grass, water and electric hookups are standard at the state park, and full hookups are common at the private parks. RV renters should confirm site length limits before booking.

Reservations at South Carolina state parks may be made up to 13 months in advance. Cypress View at Santee State Park is booked through the official South Carolina State Parks reservation system. Cabin and campsite rentals are typically accepted for a two-night minimum, however, during busier periods, minimum stays may be increased at some parks. Camping reservations requested less than one day in advance of check-in must be made directly through the park. Private campgrounds handle their own bookings. River Bottom Farms Family Campground, Outside Inn Campground, and St George RV Park behind hotel are typically booked direct by phone or through operator websites. Sweetwater Lake Campground is best confirmed with the operator before arrival. For summer weekends and Lake Marion fishing tournament dates, reserve Santee sites several months out.
