Campgrounds and RV parks near Holly Hill, SC

Holly Hill sits in Orangeburg County on the Atlantic Coastal Plain, roughly midway between Columbia and Charleston. The town lies about 50 miles northwest of Charleston and 60 miles southeast of Columbia at an elevation near 105 feet. The main draw for RV travelers is nearby Lake Marion, South Carolina's largest lake, located roughly 10 miles northeast of town. Most campgrounds in the area cluster around Lake Marion and the Santee Cooper region. Bells Marina & Resort and Lake Marion Resort and Marina sit on the water with boat access, while Lakeshore - Santee State Park anchors the public-land option. Santee / Santee Lakes KOA Journey provides a full-service private park close to I-95, and Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage offers a quieter inland base closer to Holly Hill itself. Santee State Park sits along Lake Marion, one of the two lakes (the other is Moultrie) that gave birth to America's inland striped bass fishery. Together, the lakes cover more than 170,000 acres and are known for abundant populations of huge catfish, making the area a strong fit for fishing-focused family trips.

Sites at Santee State Park, including Lakeshore - Santee State Park, are reserved through the South Carolina State Parks reservation system. Reservations may be made up to 13 months in advance, and requests made less than one day before check-in must be handled directly through the park. Reservations can be made online or by calling the toll-free reservation line at 1-866-345-PARK. Bells Marina & Resort, Lake Marion Resort and Marina, Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage, and Santee / Santee Lakes KOA Journey each handle reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Waterfront and pull-through sites tend to sell out first for spring, fall, and summer weekends, so booking several weeks or months ahead is advised. All firewood brought into South Carolina State Parks must be from within the state and from less than 50 miles away.
