Campgrounds and RV parks near Latta, SC

Latta sits in Dillon County in the Pee Dee region of northeastern South Carolina, just off Interstate 95 between Florence and the North Carolina line. The area is flat coastal-plain country with pine forest, blackwater rivers, and small farm towns, which makes it a practical overnight or multi-night stop for RV travelers moving along the I-95 corridor toward Myrtle Beach, Charleston, or Florida. Campground options near Latta lean toward small privately owned parks and one nearby state park. Bass Lake Campground and Bass Lake RV Campground offer local sites close to town, Camp Pedro sits near the South of the Border complex at the state line, and Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey provides a full-service option a short drive north across the border in North Carolina. For a more natural setting, Little Pee Dee State Park sits in the South Carolina Sandhills region and is named after the blackwater Little Pee Dee River, with 54-acre Lake Norton at its center, offering a quieter alternative to the interstate parks.

Little Pee Dee State Park reservations go through the South Carolina State Parks system at southcarolinaparks.com. Sites can be booked up to 13 months in advance. The maximum cumulative stay at most parks is 42 out of 49 days, though during peak season parks may shorten this to a 14-day consecutive stay. Camping reservations require a minimum of two nights, and holiday weekends in spring and fall fill early. Private parks in the area, including Bass Lake Campground, Bass Lake RV Campground, and Camp Pedro, generally take reservations by phone or through their own websites. Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey books through the KOA national platform and the KOA app, which is useful for last-minute I-95 overnights. For peak travel weeks around spring break, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, reserve at least six to eight weeks ahead.
