Campgrounds and RV parks near Mulberry, SC

Mulberry sits in central South Carolina's Sumter County, within the state's Midlands region where the Sandhills give way to the Upper Coastal Plain. The area places RV travelers within a short drive of Lake Marion, the Wateree River corridor, and several long-established state parks, so a base near Mulberry works for both weekend fishing trips and longer touring stays. The closest developed campground is Poinsett State Park, roughly 20 miles south in the High Hills of Santee. Lee State Park sits about the same distance northeast along the Lynches River near Bishopville, and Columbia / Camden RV Park serves as a convenient interstate stop off I-20 in Lugoff. For lake-focused trips, Taw Caw Campground and Marina and Cypress View at Santee State Park front Lake Marion to the south. Most sites in the region are wooded with packed sand or gravel pads. State-park loops tend to book heavily on spring and fall weekends, while private parks near the interstates typically hold overnight capacity year-round.

South Carolina State Parks use a central reservation system covering Poinsett State Park, Lee State Park, and Cypress View at Santee State Park. Bookings are accepted online or by phone up to 13 months in advance, and reservations requested less than one day before check-in must be made directly through the park office. A two-night minimum applies to most campsite reservations, with longer minimums during peak periods and holidays. Columbia / Camden RV Park and Taw Caw Campground and Marina take reservations directly through the property, by phone or through their own websites. Waterfront sites at Taw Caw and Cypress View sell out first for holiday weekends and peak fishing periods, so booking well in advance is prudent for those dates. Firewood brought into South Carolina State Parks must come from within the state and from within 50 miles of the park.
