Campgrounds and RV parks near Olanta, SC

Olanta sits in Florence County in South Carolina's Pee Dee region, about halfway between Columbia and Myrtle Beach on I-95. The town itself is small, so most RV travelers use it as a quiet base for exploring nearby Lake City, Florence, Bishopville, and the Lynches River corridor. Terrain is flat coastal plain with pine woods, farmland, and slow blackwater rivers. Camping options within a short drive range from full-hookup resort sites to state-park campgrounds and small private farms. CrossRoads Coach Resort at the ROB in Lake City offers paved RV pads geared toward larger rigs, while Lee State Park near Bishopville sits along the Lynches River, has a campground open year round, and offers sites with water and electrical hookups convenient to restrooms with hot showers, with some sites accommodating RVs up to 36 feet and others up to 30 feet. Smaller operations like Nowhere Campground and RV Park, Standing Pines, and The Farm Campground round out the local mix. Because Olanta is near I-95 and US 301, most sites are easy to reach with a big rig and work well as an overnight stop or a multi-night base for day trips.

Lee State Park is reserved through the South Carolina State Parks system at reserve.southcarolinaparks.com or by phone at 1-866-345-PARK. Reservations may be made up to 13 months in advance to the date, and camping stays require a two-night minimum, with reservations less than one day in advance of check-in made directly through the park office. Private parks such as CrossRoads Coach Resort at the ROB, Nowhere Campground and RV Park, Standing Pines, and The Farm Campground each handle their own reservations, usually online or by phone through the operator's website. For race weekends at Darlington and for ArtFields week in Lake City, book several months out; midweek stays outside those windows are usually easier.
