Campgrounds near Riverview, South Carolina
Riverview is a small community in York County, South Carolina, sitting just south of the North Carolina line between Fort Mill, Tega Cay, and Lake Wylie. The area puts RV travellers within a short drive of Charlotte, Rock Hill, and the western shore of Lake Wylie, a 13,443 acre lake that borders both North and South Carolina. That mix of lake access and metro-area attractions drives most camping demand.
Most overnight options fall into three groups: county parks on the lake, a large amusement-park resort, and private full-hookup parks. York County's Ebenezer Park is a 26-acre park located north of Rock Hill on the shores of Lake Wylie, offering overnight stays in one of 79 RV campsites or 5 tent campsites. Allison Creek Park is a 160-acre recreational area on the shores of Lake Wylie in York County, with 33 full-hookup RV campsites and 16 primitive tent sites.
For families combining camping with a theme-park visit, Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort sits at the park gate, and Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA Journey and Crown Cove RV Park round out the private-park options close to Riverview.
Things to do around Riverview
Lake Wylie is the primary draw. Ebenezer Park provides direct water access with three boat ramps, a semicircular fishing pier, a designated swimming area, and a kayak/canoe launch, while Allison Creek offers four boat ramps, a kayak/canoe launch, a fishing dock, and three miles of hiking trails.
Families with kids often build a trip around Carowinds. Registered Camp Wilderness guests can purchase discounted tickets and use free shuttle service to the park during park operating days. Charlotte is roughly a 20 to 30 minute drive north, adding museums, professional sports, and dining.
On land, expect flat-to-rolling piedmont terrain suited to easy hiking and biking, plus paddling on quiet coves off the main lake.

Spring and fall are the most comfortable windows for RV travel in this part of the Carolinas. Days run warm without the peak humidity of midsummer, and lakeside sites are less crowded than during school break. Mild temperatures make these shoulder seasons good for hiking, paddling, and lake fishing.
Summer is peak season for lake use and family travel. Expect hot, humid days, afternoon thunderstorms, and heavy weekend demand at both public and private parks. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially for weekend stays from May through September when lakefront sites fill quickly.
Winter is the quietest stretch. The county parks are open 365 days a year, though seasonal services scale back. At Ebenezer Park, for example, the seasonal concession stand is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Freezes are possible but usually short, and RVers who winterize appropriately can still find open sites.

This was our second time renting from Matt and Shannon, and once again everything was smooth from start to finish. Their RV made our weekend at the Ebony Horsemen Rodeo comfortable and stress-free. Can't wait to book with them again for next year's event!

Here’s a polished rewrite of your review: --- Matt was an outstanding host. He was flexible when I needed to adjust both the drop-off location and the rental dates for the RV. He personally met me to hand over the RV, walked me through how to use the equipment, and made sure I felt comfortable. Throughout the process, he was attentive and responsive to my concerns, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable.

How to book a site near Riverview
The two York County parks use a shared reservation system. The park is open year-round, and camping reservations can be made 13 months in advance. Same-day reservations are not permitted, and camping reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Sites are booked through Campspot, with resident and senior promo codes available at checkout.
Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort books through the Carowinds reservation site, with ticket-and-stay packages sold together. Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA Journey uses the standard KOA reservation platform, and Crown Cove RV Park takes reservations directly.
For holiday weekends and any summer Friday to Sunday stay, book well ahead. Note stay limits on public sites: Ebenezer Park is not a long-term campground, and the maximum length of stay is 14 nights on a campsite, and the same 14-night cap applies at Allison Creek Park.
What to expect on the ground
Expect paved pads at the newer public parks, with full hookups standard on RV loops. Ebenezer Park has 79 full hook-up RV campsites, each equipped with water, sewer, electric (50/30/20 amp), a fire ring with a grill, and a picnic table. At Allison Creek, RV campsites are paved and each equipped with water, sewer, electric (50/30/20 amp), a fire ring with a grill, and a picnic table, alongside a separate primitive tent loop.
Rig-parking policy is strict at the county parks. RV campers may only park their vehicles, trailers, and golf carts on the concrete pad at their assigned campsite, and may not park on the grass; vehicles that do not fit are directed to the day-use parking lot.
At Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort, sites can be tight but the trade-off is walkable park access and pool amenities. Cabins sleep up to 8, and level sites with full hookups easily accommodate both pop-ups and RVs up to 45 feet. Cell service is generally strong throughout the area, and grocery, fuel, and RV supplies are close at hand in Fort Mill and Rock Hill.
