South of the city, Taw Caw Campground and Marina, Cypress View - Santee State Park, and Palmetto Shores RV Resort cluster around Lake Marion, giving RV travelers access to open water, boat ramps, and full-hookup options within roughly an hour's drive.

South Carolina State Parks use a single central reservation system that covers Poinsett, Lee, and Santee. Reservations may be made up to 13 months in advance, and requests made less than one day before check-in must be handled directly with the park. Sites and cabins can be booked online or by phone through the state parks reservation desk at 1-866-345-PARK. The Poinsett campground provides 24 sites with individual water and electrical hookups plus 26 tent sites with individual water, and some sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. Santee's Cypress View has 50 sites, and Lee combines standard family sites with equestrian sites. Taw Caw Campground and Marina and Palmetto Shores RV Resort are private operations on the Lake Marion side and are booked directly with the property. For summer weekends and holidays, reserve several months out.
