Campgrounds and RV parks near Timmonsville, SC

Timmonsville sits in the Pee Dee region of northeastern South Carolina, between Florence and Darlington along the I-20 and I-95 corridors. The surrounding coastal plain is flat, sandy, and heavily wooded with longleaf and loblolly pine, and it drains toward the Lynches and Great Pee Dee rivers. RV travelers use the town as a base for Darlington Raceway, Lake City's arts scene, and the state parks that ring the region. Camping options within a short drive range from state-park campgrounds to full-hookup RV resorts. Lee State Park sits along the Lynches River near Bishopville with water and electric hookups, a handful of full-hookup sites, and a dedicated equestrian loop. CrossRoads Coach Resort at the ROB in Lake City and Standing Pines near Hartsville offer full-hookup RV sites with paved or concrete pads. The Farm Campground in McBee provides wooded sites with hookups, and H Cooper Black Jr Memorial Recreational Area near Cheraw combines RV sites with a large equestrian and field-trial complex. Most sites in the area stay open year-round, with peak demand tied to race weekends and spring festivals.

South Carolina State Parks handle reservations through a single system. Sites at Lee State Park and H Cooper Black Jr Memorial Recreational Area can be booked online or by calling the state parks reservation line, up to thirteen months in advance. A two-night minimum applies to standard camping reservations, and stays booked less than one day before check-in must be arranged directly with the park office. Private parks book directly. CrossRoads Coach Resort at the ROB, Standing Pines, and The Farm Campground each accept reservations through their own websites or by phone. For race weekends at Darlington and for the ArtFields festival, RV sites within a half-hour of the venue fill many weeks out, so plan holiday and event travel well ahead.
