East Ridge sits on the Tennessee-Georgia line at the southeast edge of Chattanooga, putting RV travellers within a short drive of Lookout Mountain, the Tennessee River Gorge, and Chickamauga Lake. The area mixes commercial RV parks with a nearby state park, so families can choose between full-hookup convenience and a wooded lakefront stay.
Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga and Hawkins Pointe RV Park are the closest options for travellers who want quick highway access and standard hookups. Raccoon Mountain Caverns & Campground sits west of downtown Chattanooga and pairs RV sites with on-site cave tours, cabins, and glamping tents.
Harrison Bay State Park lies north of the city along Chickamauga Lake and offers a more traditional state-park experience with lakefront sites, hiking, and a marina. Round Pond Retreat rounds out the options for travellers wanting a quieter, more private setting outside the metro area.
Things to do near East Ridge
Downtown Chattanooga is the main draw. The Tennessee Aquarium, Lookout Mountain attractions including Rock City and Ruby Falls, and the Tennessee Riverwalk are all within a short drive of most campgrounds in the area.
Outdoor activities cluster around Chickamauga Lake and the Tennessee River. Harrison Bay State Park has multiple hiking trails, including a 4.5-mile multi-use loop along the shoreline, plus the Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear Trace golf course, a swimming pool, and a marina with boat access. Chickamauga Lake supports fishing for bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish.
Raccoon Mountain Caverns offers guided walking tours of illuminated passages as well as wild cave expeditions into undeveloped sections, with miles of underground passageways to explore.

We opted for delivery and setup to the campsite which was great! When we arrived everything was set up and ready for us to move in. It was great to escape the heat at the event and have lunch and dinner at the camper. They were awesome to work with! We highly recommend them for a rental option!! We would definitely choose them again!!

So glad I chose to rent an rv for the first time this weekend, as it rained 2 of 3 days and nights. Communication was smooth, even when a strange fluke occurred and I accidently got locked out. Matt immediately drove out to the site with a spare. It seemed to be a malfunction in the mechanism which I'm sure they will be addressing soon. The camper was clean, well equipped and simple to operate. The bed was comfy and I am particular. So , I was , a happy camper.

We enjoyed Drew’s camper very much for our Labor Day weekend trip to Chattanooga! Despite high temps in the 90’s and hitting 100 during the weekend, we even got cold at night from the air conditioning working so well. The camper was clean and looked bigger in person than the pictures. Lastly, even though we never actually got to meet Drew, he was attentive and responsive over messages when we had questions. We would absolutely stay in Drew’s camper again!

We rented this camper and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The camper itself was clean, comfortable, and clearly well maintained. Everything was in great working order, and it was obvious the host takes pride in keeping it ready for guests. The host was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. Communication was quick and friendly, and they were genuinely helpful throughout the entire process, from booking to pickup to return. Any questions we had were answered right away, which made everything smooth and stress free. Highly recommend both this camper and host, and we wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future!

How to book campgrounds near East Ridge
Harrison Bay State Park uses the Tennessee State Parks reservation system, which accepts bookings online or by phone up to one year in advance. There is a non-refundable advance reservation fee per campsite, most sites require a minimum two-night stay, and same-day bookings must be made by phone rather than online. Standard state-park rules on firewood and pets apply inside the park.
Private parks including Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Hawkins Pointe RV Park, Raccoon Mountain Caverns & Campground, and Round Pond Retreat take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. For summer weekends and holiday periods, book several weeks ahead. Big-rig travellers should confirm site length and pull-through availability when reserving.
What to expect near East Ridge
Most RV parks in the East Ridge and Chattanooga area offer full hookups with 30- and 50-amp service, Wi-Fi, laundry, and dump stations. Raccoon Mountain Caverns & Campground provides pull-through sites, a pool, playground, dog run, and discounted on-site cave tours for guests.
Harrison Bay State Park has 128 RV sites with water and electric hookups, plus 27 primitive tent-only sites, with one centralized dump station. A limited number of sites accommodate rigs up to 65 feet. Sites are wooded, and pets are allowed on leash throughout the park.
Expect some interstate or train noise at parks located close to I-24 or I-75. Cellular coverage is generally strong across the metro area, and grocery stores, fuel, and RV supplies are easy to find within a short drive.

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in East Ridge, TN. Tennessee does not require a Commercial Driver License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use recreational vehicles, even for larger Class A motorhomes. To rent on RVezy you'll generally need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my East Ridge RV rental?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy, and there's a money-back grace period right after you book so you can reserve with confidence. Refund amounts after that depend on factors like how far out your trip is and whether a major disruption (like a natural disaster) affects your plans, which can matter in East Tennessee where spring thunderstorms occasionally cause issues. Full cancellation details are on the RVezy Help Center. If life happens, message RVezy support and they'll walk you through your options.

Absolutely, plenty of pet-friendly RV rental East Ridge options are ready for your four-legged co-pilot. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats), then message them about any size or breed details before booking. East Ridge is a great pet base: Camp Jordan Park has open green space for leash walks, Booker T. Washington State Park has dog-friendly lakeside trails, and Harrison Bay State Park's loops allow leashed pets. Pro tip: pack a collapsible water bowl, your dog's vaccination record, and a tie-out for relaxed campsite afternoons.
tnstateparks.com/parks/harrison-bayCan the RV be delivered to my campground in East Ridge?
Yes, RV delivery East Ridge is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers and families flying into Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport. Many hosts will drive the rig straight to your campsite at Raccoon Mountain, Harrison Bay State Park, or a nearby KOA, level it, hook up water and electric, and give you a full walkthrough so all you do is unpack. Filter for 'Delivery' on the listing page to see hosts who offer it, then message them with your campground address for an exact quote. Pro tip: delivery pairs perfectly with a fifth wheel or large travel trailer you'd rather not tow.

Winters are mild (40s-50s) with only occasional light snow, making December-February a quietly underrated season for cheap RV rental East Ridge stays. October is the local favorite: fall foliage on Lookout Mountain plus the Ironman crowds have cleared out.

The flat I-75 corridor heading north and the easy 15-minute drive to Harrison Bay State Park means you can get comfortable on calm roads before tackling anything mountainous. Pro tip: choose a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan rental East Ridge for your first trip, then graduate to a Class A on your next adventure.

Cell coverage along I-75, I-24, and most major Chattanooga-area campgrounds is strong on all major carriers. help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best RV road trips from East Ridge, TN?
East Ridge is a launchpad for some of the South's best RV routes. Top picks: a Smokies loop through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (about 115 miles east); the Cherohala Skyway and Ocoee River whitewater corridor (about 90 miles east); a Nashville music run via I-24 (135 miles, around 2 hours 15 minutes); Atlanta and Stone Mountain south on I-75 (120 miles); and the Cumberland Plateau waterfall circuit through Fall Creek Falls and South Cumberland State Park (1.5-2 hours northwest). help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on an East Ridge RV rental?
Fuel is the biggest variable in your RV rental in East Ridge, TN budget, so plan smart. Class B campervans average 18-22 mpg, Class C motorhomes 8-12 mpg, and Class A motorhomes 6-10 mpg. Tennessee gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, and you'll find plenty of large-rig-friendly stations along I-75 in East Ridge (Pilot, Love's, and the TA Travel Center near exit 1 all have high-clearance lanes). For a 500-mile weekend loop, budget roughly $150-$300 in fuel depending on RV class. Pro tip: download the GasBuddy app to compare prices before crossing into Georgia, where fuel is often a few cents cheaper.
gasprices.aaa.com/state-gas-price-averages/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near East Ridge?
Earlier is always better for the best campgrounds near East Ridge. Tennessee State Parks (like Harrison Bay) open reservations up to one year out at tnstateparks.com, and fall weekends in October book solid 4-6 months ahead. Private RV parks like Chattanooga South KOA and Raccoon Mountain Campground typically need 2-3 months for summer weekends, while spring and winter weekdays are often available a week out. Pro tip: if you're aiming for Ironman weekend or July 4th, lock in your site the moment you book your RV.
tnstateparks.com/parks/harrison-bayWhat are driving conditions like in and around East Ridge?
Driving an RV around East Ridge is very manageable, with a few smart things to know. The I-24/I-75 split just north of town is the busiest interchange in the region, so avoid weekday rush hours (7-9 am and 4-6 pm). Heading toward Lookout Mountain or the Ocoee River means winding two-lane roads with steeper grades, so use lower gears and take it slow. Watch for low railroad bridges in downtown Chattanooga (most tall RVs should bypass them via I-24). Pro tip: opt for RV delivery East Ridge if city driving makes you nervous; the host handles the tricky parts.
smartway.tn.gov/trafficWhat amenities and hookups can I expect at campgrounds near East Ridge?
You'll find a wide range of campground amenities near East Ridge, from full-hookup resorts to primitive state park loops. Chattanooga South KOA and Raccoon Mountain offer 30/50-amp electric, water, sewer, Wi-Fi, pools, and laundry. Harrison Bay State Park has water and 30/50-amp electric at most sites with a central dump station, plus a marina and bathhouse. For freshwater fills and dump stations on the road, the Pilot Travel Center at I-75 exit 1 has RV-friendly facilities. Pro tip: ask your host if a sewer hose, drinking-water hose, and surge protector are included; most provide them.
tnstateparks.com/parks/harrison-bayWhat's inside a typical East Ridge RV rental?
Expect a fully-equipped home on wheels when you rent an RV in East Ridge, TN. Most listings include sleeping for 4-8 with real beds (queen, bunks, or convertible dinettes), a kitchen with fridge/freezer, stovetop, microwave, sink, and basic cookware, plus a bathroom with toilet and shower. Air conditioning and a furnace are standard (essential for muggy Tennessee summers and chilly winter nights), and many rigs include a generator, awning, TV, and seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Class B campervans are more compact (built-in beds, smaller galley). Pro tip: filter by 'Sleeps' count and check the photos for the kitchen layout before booking; that's what makes or breaks a family RV trip East Ridge.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=East%20Ridge%2C%20TennesseeWhat add-ons and extras can I get with my East Ridge RV rental?
Hosts offer all kinds of helpful add-ons to customize your East Ridge RV trip. Common options include linen and towel packages, kitchen kits, camp chairs and outdoor tables, bike racks, generators (often included), Wi-Fi hotspots, and propane refills. RV delivery East Ridge is typically priced per mile from the host's location, with setup included. Pickup is usually at the host's home or driveway, and they'll message you the address and a time window. Mileage policies vary: some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, others bundle 100-150 free miles per day with a per-mile fee beyond. Pro tip: bundle linens and a kitchen kit if you're flying into Chattanooga; it saves a Walmart run.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=East%20Ridge%2C%20TennesseeHow does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental East Ridge?
Payment is simple and secure through RVezy. You pay the booking total (nightly rate, protection plan, service fee, and any add-ons) at checkout using a credit or debit card, and RVezy holds funds until your trip starts, so neither you nor the host has to handle cash. A refundable security deposit is held separately on your card before pickup; the amount is shown on the listing and is released after your trip as long as the RV comes back in the same condition. Pro tip: do a quick walk-around video with the host at pickup and dropoff in East Ridge, it's the easiest way to ensure your deposit comes back fast.
