Campgrounds and RV parks near Falling Water, TN

Falling Water is a small community on Walden Ridge in Hamilton County, roughly ten miles north of downtown Chattanooga. It sits near Falling Water Falls, partly within the Town of Walden, Tennessee, and the ridge-top setting puts RVers within short drives of the Tennessee River, the Cumberland Plateau escarpment, and the wider Chattanooga metro area. RV travelers typically base out of parks along the river or along the I-24 and I-75 corridors near the city. Harrison Bay State Park sits directly on Lake Chickamauga along the Chickamauga Reservoir of the Tennessee River and is the closest full-service state park for RVs. Skull Island Campground and Hawkins Pointe RV Park add lakeside options on the Tennessee River system, while Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga offers a conventional highway-adjacent park with full hookups. For climbing routes, cave tours, and quick access to Lookout Mountain attractions, Raccoon Mountain Caverns & Campground on the west side of Chattanooga is a common pick. Together these give travelers a mix of lake, urban, and mountain settings within about a 30-mile radius of Falling Water.

Reservations for Harrison Bay State Park Campground can be made through the Tennessee State Parks reservation system online or by phone. Reservations are available up to one year in advance with a non-refundable booking fee, and lakeside and full-hookup loops go first for holiday weekends and summer Saturdays. Private parks in the area, including Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Hawkins Pointe RV Park, and Raccoon Mountain Caverns & Campground, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Skull Island Campground, on the Tennessee River, is a smaller operation, so calling ahead to confirm availability and rig-length limits is worthwhile. For peak summer and fall-color weekends, aim to book six to eight weeks out. Midweek stays in spring and late fall are usually available on shorter notice.
