Campgrounds and RV parks near Hopewell, TN

Hopewell is a census-designated place in Bradley County, about six miles northwest of downtown Cleveland and roughly twenty-five miles from Chattanooga. The area sits in the foothills of the southern Appalachians, close to Chickamauga Lake, the Hiwassee and Ocoee rivers, and the Cherokee National Forest, giving RV travelers a broad mix of lakeside, riverside, and highway-accessible camping within a short drive. The closest full-service option is Chattanooga North / Cleveland KOA Journey, a KOA off Interstate 75 that suits travelers moving between Chattanooga and Knoxville. For lake camping on Chickamauga, Skull Island Campground occupies its own island near Harrison, and Harrison Bay State Park offers a larger public campground with shoreline sites, a marina, and a golf course. RV travelers heading east toward whitewater can base at Adventures Unlimited on the Ocoee River, while anglers focused on trophy bass often choose Blue Water RV Resort on Chickamauga Lake. Together these options cover interstate stopovers, lake weekends, and river-adventure trips.

Harrison Bay State Park is reserved through the Tennessee State Parks system online or by phone, with bookings available up to one year in advance and a non-refundable reservation fee per campsite. The maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights, extended to 28 nights from December 1 through February 28. Same-day online booking is not available, so last-minute travelers must call the park. Chattanooga North / Cleveland KOA Journey is booked through the KOA website or app. Skull Island Campground, which sits on a TVA-leased island managed by Go Camp Tennessee, is reserved through its operator, while Adventures Unlimited and Blue Water RV Resort take bookings directly through their own websites. For summer weekends and holidays, reserve well ahead, especially for waterfront and full-hookup sites.
