Campgrounds and RV parks near McMinnville, TN

McMinnville sits in Warren County on the western edge of Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau, roughly halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga. The area is known locally as the Nursery Capital of the World, but for RV travelers it functions as a base for waterfall country, the Caney Fork river system, and the headwaters of Center Hill Lake. Campground options within a short drive cover state park, lakeside, and private RV formats. Rock Island State Park anchors the region with two campgrounds along the river gorge, while Horseshoe Bend Marina and Campgrounds sits on the water for boaters and anglers. Greeter Falls Campground provides access toward the South Cumberland waterfall network, and Camp Luna and The Broken Banjo RV Park round out the private options closer to town. Most sites in the area accommodate standard travel trailers and Class C motorhomes. Larger rigs should confirm site length and hookup type before booking, especially at the state park and creekside locations where pads can vary.

Rock Island State Park reservations run through the Tennessee State Parks system and can be booked up to one year in advance. A non-refundable advance reservation fee applies per campsite. Reservations can be cancelled up to two days before the scheduled arrival for a refund of camping fees, minus the reservation fee. Private campgrounds handle bookings directly. Horseshoe Bend Marina and Campgrounds, Camp Luna, and The Broken Banjo RV Park take reservations by phone or through their own websites, and policies vary by property. Greeter Falls Campground is booked through its own operator. For summer weekends, holidays, and fall-color weekends in October, booking six to eight weeks out is a reasonable target. ADA-accessible sites at the state park are limited and should be requested as early as possible.
