Campgrounds near Morrison, Tennessee
Morrison sits in Warren County on Tennessee's Highland Rim, roughly halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga and within easy driving distance of the Cumberland Plateau. The area gives RV travelers a compact base for waterfall hikes, lake days on the Caney Fork and Center Hill Lake, and short drives to Manchester, McMinnville, and the wider South Cumberland region.
Campground options range from small private parks to state-run sites and lake-access marinas. The Broken Banjo RV Park offers a private option close to town, while Old Stone Fort State Park sits along the Little Duck River in a heavily wooded setting that protects a prehistoric Native American earthwork. To the south, Greeter Falls Campground sits near the western entrance of Savage Gulf State Park on the Cumberland Plateau.
For lake-focused trips, Horseshoe Bend Marina and Campgrounds sits along the headwaters of Center Hill Lake in Walling, offering campsites that include glamping tents, RV hookups, and primitive spots. Big Mouth Cave Retreat rounds out the closer options for smaller rigs and tent setups.
Things to do near Morrison
Waterfalls anchor most itineraries. Savage Gulf, part of the South Cumberland state park system, spans roughly 16,000 acres with more than 50 miles of well-marked trails, wilderness vistas, and multiple waterfalls reached from the Greeter Falls trailhead less than a half mile from Greeter Falls Campground. Rock Island State Park to the north offers gorge overlooks, swimming, and paddling.
Center Hill Lake and the Caney Fork River draw anglers and paddlers. Kayakers staying at Horseshoe Bend Marina can paddle to waterfalls roughly a quarter mile from the docks, and the marina sits about a mile by water from Rock Island State Park's sand bar and boat ramp.
History-minded travelers can walk the interpretive trail at Old Stone Fort or visit The Caverns music venue near Pelham. Families use Manchester and McMinnville for groceries, playgrounds, and restaurants between park days.

Spring and fall are the strongest windows for RV travel in this part of Middle Tennessee. Wildflowers, running waterfalls, and mild days make March through May a favorite, and October brings color to the Cumberland Plateau. Reservations are advisable in advance, especially during peak fall weekends when changing leaves draw more visitors.
Summer is warm and humid, with afternoon thunderstorms common. Lakes and swimming holes get busy on weekends, and shaded state-park sites book out early. July is typically the warmest month and one of the wettest, so campers should plan for heat, humidity, and pop-up storms.
Winter camping is quieter and possible, but expect reduced services. At Old Stone Fort, one of the two restroom facilities includes showers, but that building is closed during the off-season, so showers are not available in December, January, and February. Freezing nights occur, so travelers should plan for winterized hookups and cold-weather gear.

How to book near Morrison
State-park sites use the Tennessee State Parks reservation system. Advanced reservations are available prior to arrival and may be made up to one year in advance, with a non-refundable advanced reservation fee per campsite. Booking is done online through the Tennessee State Parks portal or by phone with the park office.
Private campgrounds have their own platforms. Greeter Falls Campground takes reservations through Campspot, and Horseshoe Bend Marina books directly through its own website. Weekend and holiday demand runs highest from spring through fall leaf season, so lock in dates several weeks out for popular sites.
RV renters should confirm rig-length limits before booking. Old Stone Fort campsites have hard-surface pads that can accommodate a unit up to 50 feet in length, and access has changed: the original one-lane bridge is closed, and campground access is via Country Club Drive following highway signage.
What to expect on-site
Sites in this region tend to be wooded and shaded rather than open. Old Stone Fort has campsites in a heavily wooded area next to the Little Duck River, with water and electric hookups, hard-surface pads, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. A dump station is open year-round, and firewood is available for purchase at the park.
Greeter Falls is rustic and terrain-forward, with 30 RV and travel trailer sites offering 30/50 amp power and water, plus tent, cabin, and yurt options. Cell service can be spotty across the plateau, though many private parks offer Wi-Fi.
Expect a two-week stay limit at Tennessee State Parks and quiet-hour enforcement at most private grounds. Tennessee State Parks asks that all campfires be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park, and untreated wood should not be brought in.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Morrison, TN?
An RV rental in Morrison is one of the more affordable ways to explore Middle Tennessee. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275 per night, and larger Class A coaches run from $250 to $400 per night. Prices rise during Bonnaroo week in nearby Manchester and Bristol race weekends, so book those dates 4 to 6 months ahead. For a cheap RV rental in Morrison, look at weekday pickups in March, April, or October and filter for towable trailers, which are usually the best value. Many hosts unlock weekly discounts automatically on 5 to 7 night trips.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Morrison,TennesseeWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Morrison, TN?
Good news for your Morrison RV trip: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent any RV on RVezy, including Class A motorhomes. Tennessee does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for personal RVs, regardless of size. Approved drivers on RVezy are generally required to be at least 25 years old and must upload a photo of a valid driver's license during booking for verification. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association. Most first-time renters in Tennessee are pleasantly surprised by how simple the paperwork is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection is included when I rent an RV in Morrison?
You're covered from the moment you book. Every motorhome rental in Morrison through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road feeling confident. The protection plan covers accidental damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your preferred level of coverage during checkout, that's your call, not the host's. It gives renters meaningful financial peace of mind on the road. Pro tip: if you're heading toward the curvy roads near Rock Island State Park or Fall Creek Falls, a higher coverage tier is a smart, low-cost upgrade for first-timers.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Morrison RV rental?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every RV rental in Morrison, not individual hosts, which means consistent, transparent terms across every listing. There is a money-back grace period right after booking, and refund amounts after that depend on how far out from your trip you cancel. You can review the current policy details on the RVezy website during checkout. Pro tip: if you're booking around Bonnaroo or a Bristol race weekend, lock in your dates early since those weekends sell out, then finalize plans during the grace window.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an RV trip from Morrison, TN?
Absolutely, and Middle Tennessee is one of the most dog-friendly regions you can pick. To find a pet-friendly RV rental in Morrison, toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see listings whose hosts welcome pets. Rock Island State Park, Fall Creek Falls State Park, and nearby private campgrounds allow leashed dogs on most trails and campsites. Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park in nearby Manchester is also great for dog walks along the Duck River. Pro tip: message the host before booking if you have a large breed or multiple pets, and pack a tie-out stake plus an extra towel for muddy paws after creek swims at Rock Island.
tnstateparks.com/about/petsCan the RV be delivered to my campground near Morrison?
Yes, and it's the easiest way to start a Morrison RV trip, especially if you've never towed before. Many RVezy hosts offer RV delivery in Morrison and across Warren County, meaning they will drive the RV to your campsite at Rock Island State Park or another nearby campground, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees typically run $2 to $4 per mile from the host's location. Pro tip: filter listings by Delivery on RVezy and message the host with your exact campground name to get a firm quote, often within an hour.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Morrison,TennesseeHow does mileage work on a Morrison RV rental?
You have options. Most hosts on RVezy include 100 to 150 free miles per night, which is plenty for a relaxed RV camping Morrison trip to Rock Island (about 20 miles), Fall Creek Falls (around 45 miles), or Lynchburg's Jack Daniel's Distillery (about 35 miles). If you're planning a bigger loop to the Smokies or Nashville, look for listings advertising RV rental with unlimited mileage, or ask the host for a mileage package upfront. Extra miles typically run $0.30 to $0.50 each. Pro tip: map your route before booking, add 15% for detours, and pick the listing whose included miles match your plan, you'll often save $50 to $100 versus paying overage.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Morrison,TennesseeWhere are the best campgrounds near Morrison, TN?
You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Morrison include Rock Island State Park Campground (sites with water and 30/50 amp electric, right on the Caney Fork River, about 20 minutes away), Cumberland Caverns RV Park in McMinnville (full hookups with access to underground cave tours), and Old Stone Fort State Park Campground in Manchester (wooded sites along the Duck River, about 25 minutes south). Tims Ford State Park near Winchester is another favorite for lakeside RV camping. Pro tip: Rock Island books up fast for summer weekends, so reserve through the official Tennessee State Parks reservation site as soon as your dates are set.
tnstateparks.com/rock-islandWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip from Morrison?
Middle Tennessee is a three-season RV destination. The sweet spot is April through early June, when daytime temps sit in the 70s to low 80s and dogwoods bloom around Rock Island. September and October are equally beautiful, with crisp 60 to 75 degree days and stunning fall color on the Cumberland Plateau. July and August get hot and humid (highs in the upper 80s to low 90s), so plan shaded campsites and run the AC overnight. Winters are mild but damp, with January lows around 28 degrees. Pro tip: book mid-October for peak foliage at Fall Creek Falls.
weather.gov/ohx/I've never rented an RV before. How do I know what I'm doing?
You'll be fine. First time renting an RV is genuinely the norm on RVezy, and every host in Morrison includes a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, water systems, propane, and dump procedure. Many also send a video orientation in advance and stay reachable by phone during your trip. If something feels confusing at a campground, you can text the host or contact RVezy support. Pro tip: for your first rent an RV in Morrison experience, choose a Class C motorhome or a small travel trailer with delivery, then book two nights at Rock Island State Park nearby so you can ease in without a long drive.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002047194-RentersWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
Take a breath, you're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on Highway 70S or a dead battery at Fall Creek Falls is just a phone call away from being handled. The roadside team can dispatch tire service, jump-starts, lockout help, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified shop. Your host is also a direct text away for quick troubleshooting on quirks specific to their RV. Pro tip: before pulling out of Morrison, snap photos of the tire pressures, save the RVezy support number in your phone, and note the nearest service center, McMinnville has several heavy-vehicle shops within 15 minutes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat road trips can I take from Morrison, TN?
Morrison is a perfect launchpad. Popular RV road trips from Morrison include Great Smoky Mountains National Park (about 170 miles east, around 3 hours), Nashville and the Natchez Trace Parkway (about 80 miles northwest, 90 minutes), Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain (around 90 miles south, under 2 hours), and Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky (about 130 miles north, 2.5 hours). Travel between U.S. states is covered under your RVezy protection plan, but travel into Mexico is not permitted. Cross-border trips into Canada may be allowed with host approval, just message before booking. Pro tip: pair a Smokies stop with the Cherohala Skyway loop for a 4 to 5 day Tennessee RV adventure.
nps.gov/grsm/index.htmHow much should I budget for fuel on an RV trip from Morrison?
Tennessee fuel is your friend, gas prices in Warren County typically run below the national average. Most Class C motorhomes you'll rent in Morrison average 8 to 10 miles per gallon, Class B campervans get 16 to 20 mpg, and travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves but drop your tow vehicle's mpg by 25 to 35%. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop to Fall Creek Falls and back, budget roughly $150 to $200 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up at the Pilot or Love's in Manchester before heading east toward the plateau, fuel is noticeably cheaper there than at stops near the state parks.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Morrison?
Earlier is better, but you have flexibility. Tennessee State Parks (including Rock Island and Fall Creek Falls) open reservations up to 12 months in advance through the official tnstateparks.com booking portal, and waterfront sites at Rock Island can sell out months ahead for summer weekends. Private parks like Cumberland Caverns RV Park and Manchester KOA usually have availability 3 to 4 weeks out, even in peak season. Bonnaroo week in mid-June is the exception, plan that one 6+ months ahead. Pro tip: if your favorite Rock Island loop is booked, check back early in the morning mid-week, that's when cancellations from prepaid weekend holds tend to release back into the system.
tnstateparks.com/reservationsWhat are the driving conditions like around Morrison?
Easy, scenic, and very RV-friendly. Morrison sits right off Highway 55 with quick access to Interstate 24, so you can roll out in any direction on wide, well-maintained roads. The drive east toward Rock Island and onto the Cumberland Plateau includes some winding two-lane stretches like TN-136 and TN-30, so take it slow in a larger Class A. Watch for occasional fog in river valleys at dawn and the rare summer thunderstorm, which usually passes within an hour. Snow is uncommon but possible in January. Pro tip: avoid I-24 westbound into Nashville between 3 and 6 p.m. on weekdays, take Highway 70S through Murfreesboro instead, it's prettier and less stressful in an RV.
tn.gov/tdot/driver-how-do-i/check-current-road-conditions.htmlWhat amenities will I find at campgrounds near Morrison?
You'll be comfortable. Most campgrounds near Morrison offer water and 30/50 amp electric hookups, with full sewer available at private parks like Manchester KOA. Rock Island State Park provides water and electric at its sites plus a centralized dump station and bathhouses with hot showers. Fall Creek Falls has full hookups in select loops. You can typically fill fresh water at the campground entrance and dump tanks on your way out at no extra fee if you're a registered camper. Pro tip: pack a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a 90-degree sewer elbow, hookups at Rock Island sometimes sit farther back than expected.

Most Class Cs and travel trailers also include a TV, awning, outdoor speakers, and a built-in generator for off-grid mornings. Wi-Fi varies, some hosts offer a hotspot add-on. Pro tip: filter your campervan rental Morrison search by the amenities that matter most to you before comparing listings.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Morrison,TennesseeWhat add-ons and pickup options do hosts offer in Morrison?
Plenty, and they make life easier. Common RVezy add-ons in Morrison include linen and kitchen kits ($35 to $75), camp chairs and outdoor tables ($15 to $30), portable generators ($30 to $50 per day), bike racks, propane fire pits, and pet packages. Pickup is typically at the host's home in Morrison or surrounding Warren County towns like McMinnville and Manchester, with handoff taking 30 to 45 minutes for the walkthrough. Many hosts also offer Instant Book and flexible pickup windows. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Morrison,TennesseeHow does payment and the security deposit work?
It's simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Morrison through RVezy, you pay the trip total upfront through the platform using a credit card, no cash or off-platform transfers, which protects both you and the host. A refundable security deposit (separate from your booking payment) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after return, assuming no damage or extra cleaning. Keep all communication and payments inside RVezy so you stay covered by the protection plan. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video with the host at both pickup and drop-off, it's the easiest way to ensure your deposit comes back fast and in full.
