Campgrounds near Pikeville, Tennessee
Pikeville sits in Bledsoe County on the eastern edge of the Cumberland Plateau, in Tennessee's Sequatchie Valley. The town serves as a practical base for RV travelers heading into Fall Creek Falls State Park, which lies roughly 18 miles west and covers more than 26,000 acres of waterfalls, gorges, and hardwood forest.
The area mixes public and private camping. Fall Creek Falls operates the largest public campground in the region, with more than 200 sites across five loops offering water and electric hookups, and 107 sites that add sewer. Private options closer to town include Mountain Glen RV Park and Campground and Airstream Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground, both of which serve travelers looking for full hookups and easier road access.
Additional private parks in the surrounding valley include R and R RV Campground, Breckenridge RV Campground, and Blue Water RV Resort. Together these give RV renters a range of choices from developed state park loops to smaller private grounds within a short drive of Pikeville.
Things to do near Pikeville
Fall Creek Falls State Park is the primary draw. The 256-foot Fall Creek Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in the eastern United States, and the park also holds Piney Falls, Cane Creek Falls, and Cane Creek Cascades. More than 56 miles of trails connect overlooks, gorges, and swimming areas, and the park includes an 18-hole golf course, a lake for paddling and fishing, a suspension bridge, and the Betty Dunn Nature Center.
Beyond the park, drivers can reach Rock Island State Park and Cumberland Mountain State Park within about an hour. Savage Gulf State Natural Area, known for deep sandstone gorges, sits on the plateau to the southwest and offers additional day-hike options from a Pikeville base.

Spring and fall are the strongest windows for RV travel on the Cumberland Plateau. Waterfall volume peaks in spring after winter and early-spring rain, and October brings reliable hardwood color along with the lowest average number of wet days in the calendar year. Both shoulders bring cool nights, so bring layers.
Summer is the busiest booking season. Fall Creek Falls fills quickly on weekends, and walk-ins should not expect weekend availability without a reservation. June through August is warm and humid with frequent afternoon thunderstorms, and July delivers the highest heat, so shaded sites and hookups with strong power for air conditioning are worth targeting.
Winter camping is available year-round at Fall Creek Falls, with the maximum stay extended to 28 days from December 1 through the end of February and far fewer crowds. Some private parks reduce services or close portions of their grounds in winter, so RV renters should confirm availability directly before booking.

We opted for delivery and setup to the campsite which was great! When we arrived everything was set up and ready for us to move in. It was great to escape the heat at the event and have lunch and dinner at the camper. They were awesome to work with! We highly recommend them for a rental option!! We would definitely choose them again!!

So glad I chose to rent an rv for the first time this weekend, as it rained 2 of 3 days and nights. Communication was smooth, even when a strange fluke occurred and I accidently got locked out. Matt immediately drove out to the site with a spare. It seemed to be a malfunction in the mechanism which I'm sure they will be addressing soon. The camper was clean, well equipped and simple to operate. The bed was comfy and I am particular. So , I was , a happy camper.

How to book a campsite near Pikeville
Fall Creek Falls State Park uses the Tennessee State Parks reservation system at reserve.tnstateparks.com. Advance reservations can be made up to one year before arrival, and a non-refundable advance reservation fee applies per site. Reservations can also be made by phone through 1-888-TN-PARKS. Check-in is at 4:00 pm and check-out is at noon.
Private parks near Pikeville, including Mountain Glen RV Park and Campground, Airstream Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground, R and R RV Campground, Breckenridge RV Campground, and Blue Water RV Resort, each manage their own booking systems by phone or website. For summer weekends and fall color weekends, book eight to twelve weeks ahead. Cancellations do open up, so checking the state park site regularly can turn up last-minute inventory.
What to expect on the ground
Fall Creek Falls has five campground areas labeled A through E. All sites include tables, grills, water, and 20, 30, and 50 amp electric, and 107 sites add sewer. Select sites accept RVs up to 65 feet, but some loops have narrow or unlevel pads, so leveling blocks are useful. Cell service varies by carrier and terrain, and park Wi-Fi is limited.
Firewood gathering is limited to dead materials on the ground, and outside firewood is discouraged to protect against invasive pests. Quiet hours run from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. Each site allows one wheeled camping unit and camping rates are based on up to six people per site. Pets are allowed on leash. Private parks in the area generally offer easier pull-throughs, closer amenities, and more consistent connectivity than the state park loops.

Compact campervans and small travel trailers typically rent for $90 to $150 a night, while larger Class C motorhomes and fifth wheels for family RV trips run closer to $180 to $250. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Pikeville%2C%20TennesseeWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Pikeville?
Good news for your Pikeville RV trip: a regular driver's license is all you need. Tennessee does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special endorsement for the motorhomes and travel trailers booked through RVezy, including Class A, Class C, and fifth wheel rigs. You'll need to be at least 25 years old and complete RVezy's approved driver verification through the platform when you book. International visitors are welcome too: bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto association along with your home license. That's it, you're cleared to roll into the Cumberland Plateau.

Yes, every RV rental in Pikeville booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built into your booking. Protection plans help cover damage to the RV, so you can hike to the 256-foot Fall Creek Falls or drive the winding Sequatchie Valley roads with real peace of mind. You choose your coverage level during checkout (not the host), letting you match protection to your comfort. If a tire goes flat on Highway 30 or you need a jump at a local RV park, one call to RVezy roadside assistance gets help on the way. This is not traditional auto insurance, but it offers meaningful financial protection for renters.

Booking your Pikeville RV trip is low-risk. RVezy sets a single, platform-wide cancellation policy (not the host), and it includes a money-back grace period right after booking so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Refund eligibility after that window depends on how far out your trip is from the start date. If the host cancels, you receive a full refund or travel credit. If plans change, contact RVezy support and they'll walk you through your options. Book the RV you love today and sort the details with confidence later.

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental in Pikeville is easy to find. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats), often for a small cleaning fee. Fall Creek Falls State Park allows leashed pets on most trails and in its campgrounds, so your pup can join you on the Woodland Trail or the Gorge Overlook Trail. Pro tip: pack a long tie-out, a spill-resistant water bowl for the Sequatchie Valley breeze, and tick prevention, since Tennessee summers bring them out in the woods.
tnstateparks.com/parks/fall-creek-fallsWhere can I park my RV rental in Pikeville?
Pikeville sits at the gateway to some of Tennessee's best RV camping, making it an ideal base for a Cumberland Plateau road trip. Fall Creek Falls State Park, just a short drive away, offers full-hookup RV sites with water, electric, and sewer connections, plus access to waterfalls, hiking trails, and a lake. For a quieter stay, look for smaller private RV parks in the Sequatchie Valley. If you'd rather skip the tow, many RVezy hosts in the Pikeville area offer RV delivery and setup directly to your campsite, so you can arrive, relax, and start your trip right away.
