Campgrounds near Tullahoma, Tennessee
Tullahoma sits in south-central Tennessee between two reservoirs that anchor most RV camping in the area: Tims Ford Lake to the south and Normandy Lake to the north. The city is roughly 90 minutes south of Nashville and about 75 minutes west of Chattanooga, which makes it a practical middle-Tennessee base for lake, river, and small-town travel.
State-park camping is the largest inventory nearby. Tims Ford State Park is open year-round with 168 campsites across three areas (Main, Turkey Creek, and Fairview). All sites have 30-amp electric service and water hookups, and four sites also have sewer hookups. Fairview - Tims Ford State Park is the campground area with lake-adjacent sites and access to the park's biking and hiking trails. Old Stone Fort State Park sits along the Duck River just north in Manchester. Old Stone Fort has 50 campsites with water and electrical hookups, grills, picnic tables, and hard-surface pads, and the campsites are heavily wooded with separation between the sites.
TVA-managed campgrounds add lakefront options on Normandy Reservoir. Barton Springs Campground and Cedar Point Campground sit on opposite banks of the reservoir, and Clearwater Cove RV Resort adds a private-park alternative in the same corridor.
Things to do near Tullahoma
Water dominates the local activity list. Tims Ford Lake is known for bass fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming, and the park has miles of paved and unpaved trails winding along the reservoir's shoreline for hiking and biking. Both Tims Ford and Normandy reservoirs draw anglers and paddlers throughout the warm season.
Old Stone Fort adds a different mix. The Old Stone Fort is a 2,000-year-old American Indian ceremonial site, consisting of mounds and walls that combine with cliffs and rivers to form an enclosure measuring 1-1/4 miles around. Campers can explore over 8 miles of hiking trails including the main interpretive trail that follows the ceremonial walls and passes by waterfalls. An on-site visitor center covers the archaeological history.
Off-park stops within an easy drive include the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, the George Dickel distillery near Normandy, and Tullahoma's own aviation museum.

Spring and fall are the most comfortable RV seasons. March through May brings mild days, wildflowers, and rising lake levels, though it is also the peak severe-weather window in Middle Tennessee, when tornadoes and strong thunderstorms are most common.
Summer is the busiest booking window. Sites at Tims Ford and Normandy fill on holiday weekends and around large regional events; the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester in mid-June draws heavy overflow demand at every campground within an hour of Tullahoma. Expect hot, humid days and afternoon thunderstorms. Fall brings cooler nights, foliage color, and lower crowds through October. Fall foliage typically lasts from early October to early November with colors peaking in late October.
Winter narrows the options. State-park campgrounds at Tims Ford and Old Stone Fort stay open, but the TVA-managed lake campgrounds close for the season: Barton Springs opens in mid-March and closes in mid-November, and Cedar Point runs a similar schedule under the same operator. At Old Stone Fort, one of the two restroom facilities includes showers, but that building is not open during the off-season, so showers are not available in December, January, and February.

How to book campgrounds near Tullahoma
Tennessee State Parks handle Tims Ford and Old Stone Fort through a single central reservation system. Advanced reservations are available prior to arrival and may be made up to one year in advance, and there is a non-refundable advanced reservation fee per campsite that supports the reservation system. Booking is available online or by phone through the central reservations line at 888-TNPARKS.
The maximum stay at Tims Ford is 14 days from March through November and 28 days in December, January, and February. Old Stone Fort uses the same structure, with a 14-day limit (28 days from December through February) and campers must vacate the park for three consecutive nights before returning. TVA-easement campgrounds on Normandy Lake, including Barton Springs and Cedar Point, are booked through the operator's site rather than the state system, and reservations for peak summer weekends and the Bonnaroo window should be locked in months ahead.
What to expect on-site
Most RV sites in the area are back-in or pull-through gravel with water and electric hookups; full hookups are limited. At Old Stone Fort, campsites have water and electrical hookups, grills, picnic tables, and hard-surface pads that can accommodate a unit up to 50 feet in length, and a dump station is open year-round. Tims Ford has a dump station at the entrance for self-contained rigs, two centrally located heated bathhouses with hot showers, picnic tables and fire rings with grills at each site, and a playground within the campground.
Barton Springs has a total of 128 campsites, all with a lake view, and 11 lakefront sites that offer the option to fish from the campsite. Cell coverage is generally reliable on the major carriers around Tullahoma and thins out on the lake peninsulas.
Firewood rules apply across the region. Only certified heat-treated firewood is allowed to enter the state park, and campfires must be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park near the campsite.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Tullahoma,TennesseeWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Tullahoma?
Good news for first-timers: a regular Tennessee Class D driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Tullahoma, even for larger Class A motorhomes. Tennessee does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for non-commercial RVs, so your everyday license covers every RV on the RVezy platform. Approved drivers on RVezy are generally 25 or older, and ID verification happens quickly before pickup. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit. help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs there protection or roadside assistance included with my Tullahoma RV rental?
Yes, every RVezy booking in Tullahoma includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance. During checkout you choose the protection level that fits your trip, giving you financial coverage for most accidental damage to the RV. You select the plan, not the host, so you stay in control of your coverage. If you get a flat on Highway 55 or need a jump start at Turkey Creek Campground, one call gets help dispatched. That safety net is exactly why so many first-time renters feel confident booking a motorhome rental in Tullahoma.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Tullahoma RV trip plans change?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy (not the individual host) sets the cancellation policy, and it includes a full money-back grace period right after you book. After that window, refund amounts depend on how far out your trip start date is. The exact terms are spelled out during checkout and in your RVezy dashboard, so there are no surprises. If severe weather such as a spring storm in Coffee County affects your plans, message the host and contact RVezy support early, the team will help work out the best path forward.

Yes, plenty of hosts welcome four-legged co-pilots. Just tap the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see every pet-friendly RV rental Tullahoma has available, then message the host to confirm size or breed preferences. Once you arrive, your pup will love the area: Tims Ford State Park allows leashed dogs on trails and at Turkey Creek Campground, and the Tullahoma Dog Park on Maplewood Avenue has separate areas for small and large dogs. Short Springs Natural Area's 420 acres of waterfalls and shaded paths are also leash-friendly. Pro tip: pack a collapsible water bowl for summer hikes to Machine Falls, Tennessee humidity is no joke for furry friends.
tnstateparks.com/parks/tims-fordCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Tullahoma?
Yes, RV delivery in Tullahoma is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who'd rather not drive a big rig. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to Tims Ford State Park's Turkey Creek Campground, Arnold AFB FamCamp (for eligible guests), or your private address for a family reunion. They'll level it, hook up water and 30/50 amp power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy and enter your destination address to see hosts who serve that spot. Delivery fees vary by distance, but for many travelers the convenience is worth every penny.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Tullahoma,TennesseeHow far can I drive on a Tullahoma RV trip, and is unlimited mileage available?
You have plenty of options. Each host sets their own mileage policy on RVezy, with many Tullahoma listings offering 100 to 150 free miles per night and some featuring RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer road trips. Tullahoma's central location is perfect for day trips: Lynchburg (Jack Daniel's Distillery) is about 18 miles away, Chattanooga sits about 75 miles southeast, Nashville is roughly 75 miles northwest, and the Great Smoky Mountains are about 220 miles east. If you're planning a big loop, filter listings by mileage allowance before booking. Ask the host upfront about per-mile overage rates, it's often cheaper than upgrading mileage packages later.

tnstateparks.com/parks/tims-fordWhen is the best time to rent an RV in Tullahoma, TN?
Tullahoma is a year-round RV destination thanks to Middle Tennessee's mild climate. The sweet spot is April through early June, when daytime highs sit in the 70s and 80s, dogwoods bloom across Short Springs Natural Area, and Machine Falls runs full from spring rains. September through early November is equally gorgeous, with fall foliage along Tims Ford Lake and crisp 60 to 75 degree days. Summers can hit the low 90s with humidity, so AC and a lakeside site help. Winters are mild (40s to 50s) and many private campgrounds stay open. Time your trip with the Beech Party at the Beechcraft Heritage Museum for a uniquely Tullahoma experience.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Tullahoma,TennesseeHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is smooth and secure. When you book an RV rental in Tennessee through RVezy, your payment is processed through the platform (never directly to the host) using a credit or debit card. A security deposit is held separately from your booking payment, with the amount set by the host and clearly shown on the listing before you book. The deposit is released back to your card after the trip ends, assuming the RV is returned in the same condition. To avoid holds, do a quick walk-around video at pickup and dropoff, return the RV with fuel and waste tanks per the host's instructions, and clean up after your pup. Review the listing's mileage, generator, and cleaning policies before checkout so you know exactly what to expect.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksIs Tullahoma a good base for a family RV trip?
Absolutely, a family RV trip from Tullahoma checks every box. Kids love the Hands-On Science Center, the Moai Statues on the north end of town for goofy photos, and Machine Falls in Short Springs Natural Area for splashing around in summer. Tims Ford Lake is perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, and pontoon rentals at Holiday Landing Marina. Aviation buffs of all ages will geek out at the Beechcraft Heritage Museum's impressive aircraft collection. Family-sized travel trailers and Class C motorhomes on RVezy sleep 6 to 8 comfortably with bunks. Book a Tims Ford State Park site with lake access so the kids can swim straight from your campsite, it's the easiest vacation hack in Coffee County.
