Campgrounds and RV parks near Morning Glory, TX

Morning Glory is a small unincorporated community in far eastern El Paso County, Texas, sitting in the Chihuahuan Desert along the Rio Grande corridor near the New Mexico and Mexico borders. The area lies at the western tip of Texas, at roughly 1,150 meters (3,750 ft) above sea level, and at the border with Mexico, beyond which is the city of Juarez, and a short distance from the state of New Mexico. The region has a hot desert climate, and campgrounds in the area cater primarily to snowbirds, cross-country travelers on Interstate 10, and visitors exploring nearby Franklin Mountains State Park, Hueco Tanks, and the greater El Paso metro. RV options near Morning Glory are almost entirely private parks rather than public campgrounds. Nearby facilities include Mission RV Park, Mission Trail Motorhome Park and RV Park, HideAway Lakes, El Paso Roadrunner RV Park, and Mountain Hut. Sites are generally full-hookup pads on level desert terrain, with easy access to city services in El Paso and the border communities south of the interstate.

Campgrounds near Morning Glory are private RV parks, so reservations are handled directly by each operator rather than through a public reservation portal such as Recreation.gov or Texas State Parks. Mission RV Park, Mission Trail Motorhome Park and RV Park, HideAway Lakes, El Paso Roadrunner RV Park, and Mountain Hut all take bookings by phone or through their own websites, and several offer weekly and monthly snowbird rates. Winter is the busiest season, and long-stay sites for December through March are commonly reserved several months in advance. Summer availability is usually easier to secure on short notice. Travelers passing through on Interstate 10 should still call ahead during major holidays and events.
