Campgrounds and RV parks near The Homesteads, TX

The Homesteads is an unincorporated community in Johnson County, Texas, sitting roughly 25 miles south-southeast of downtown Fort Worth and about 37 miles from Dallas. The area is flat to gently rolling ranch country with cedar elm and live oak, and it puts RV travelers within easy reach of both the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and the Hill Country foothills to the southwest. Private RV parks dominate the immediate area. Dodge City RV Park, Texas Ranch RV Resort, Texan RV Ranch, and The RV Resort TX offer full-hookup sites geared to travelers passing through the metroplex or staying long-term. Jellystone Park At The Rustic Creek Ranch, a themed family resort in nearby Burleson just off I-35W, adds cabins, multiple pools, and daily programming to standard RV camping. For a public-lands option, Cleburne State Park lies about 30 miles southwest around the 116-acre Cedar Lake, offering electric and full-hookup sites inside the Texas Parks and Wildlife system.

Private parks in the area, including Dodge City RV Park, Texas Ranch RV Resort, Texan RV Ranch, The RV Resort TX, and Jellystone Park At The Rustic Creek Ranch, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Themed weekends and holidays at the Jellystone property fill first, so families should book several weeks out for spring break, summer, and fall festival dates. Cleburne State Park is reserved through the Texas State Parks system at texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com or by calling the reservation center at 512-389-8900. Standard campsites open five months in advance, group facilities up to twelve months in advance, and day-use passes one month out. The park often fills on spring and fall weekends, so booking as soon as the window opens is the safest approach.
