Campgrounds near Goshen, Utah
Goshen sits in southern Utah County near the southwest shore of Utah Lake, roughly an hour south of Salt Lake City along the Interstate 15 corridor. The town is small and rural, so most RV camping happens at nearby parks in Payson, Santaquin, and along Utah Lake, all within a short drive of Goshen's crossroads.
Utah Lake State Park anchors the area with lakefront RV sites, boat ramps, and a marina on the east shore near Provo. Closer to Goshen, Gladstan RV Park sits on the Gladstan Golf Course in Payson with full hookups, and private options such as High Country RV Camping, Rollin' Home RV Park, and Lakeside RV Campground round out the list for travelers who need power, water, and sewer.
The surrounding landscape mixes high desert with the western face of the Wasatch Range. Mount Nebo rises to the southeast, and Utah Lake covers roughly 148 square miles just north of town, making the area a workable base for water recreation, hiking, and day trips into Provo Canyon.
Things to do near Goshen
Utah Lake dominates the local recreation menu. The state park provides access to power boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing for channel catfish, walleye, white bass, black bass, and panfish. Sandy Beach and Lincoln Beach on the lake's southern shore give shallow swim access closer to Goshen.
Inland, the Mount Nebo Loop Scenic Byway climbs above Payson with overlooks, trailheads, and picnic sites. Payson Lakes and Maple Lake Campground sit off the loop for day hikes and paddling. Santaquin Canyon and Pole Canyon add shorter trails.
For sand and off-roading, Little Sahara Recreation Area lies about an hour southwest of Goshen. Golfers staying at Gladstan RV Park can walk onto the adjoining 18-hole course.

The Utah Lake State Park campground runs on a defined season, with the last camping night on October 31 and a spring reopening; day-use access at the park stays open year-round. Marina slips at the state park sell out well in advance, so RV sites should be booked as soon as the rolling reservation window opens.
Private parks in Payson, including Gladstan RV Park, generally stay open year-round, though winter travelers should expect cold nights, snow at higher elevations, and possible frozen hookups. Spring is the wettest stretch and the best window for green foothills and full reservoirs. Summer brings hot, dry days, low humidity, high UV, and elevated afternoon fire-weather risk on surrounding public land.
Fall cools quickly after mid-September and delivers some of the most stable weather of the year, but many mountain campgrounds along the Nebo Loop close by late October when the U.S. Forest Service ends the season.

Positive experience. Great RV. Excellent communication with host. Although the a/c and microwave did not work on the generator, the owner did his best to troubleshoot. Fortunately, we were able to hook up to electricity

How to book campgrounds near Goshen
Utah Lake State Park uses the Utah State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica, with individual sites available on a four-month rolling basis. Campers can book a maximum of 13 days beyond the last date of the reservation window, and group sites open on an 11-month rolling basis. The campground has 31 sites with water and 20/30-amp electric, with paved pull-through pads up to about 50 feet. Reservations can also be arranged by phone with the Utah State Parks call center, Monday through Friday.
Private parks handle their own bookings. Gladstan RV Park, Lakeside RV Campground, High Country RV Camping, and Rollin' Home RV Park take direct reservations through their own sites. For summer weekends and holidays, plan several weeks ahead.
What to expect on the ground
Most RV parks in the Goshen area are practical rather than resort-style. Utah Lake State Park sites sit on paved pads in a loop with covered pavilions, picnic tables, fire pits, and grills, and cottonwoods provide some shade. Insect activity is heavy in warmer months, and mosquitoes can swarm from late spring through early fall, so bug spray is essential.
Elevation across the area sits above 4,500 feet, so nights cool off even in July, and afternoon thunderstorms can move through quickly. Cell service is generally reliable near Payson and the lake, and groceries, fuel, and big-box retailers are available in Payson and Provo within a short drive.
Sites at some private parks can be narrow and not fully level, so bring leveling blocks and confirm rig length when booking.
