Campgrounds and RV parks near Marriott-Slaterville, UT

Willard Bay is the main on-water draw, with boat launches, swim beaches, and freshwater fishing. Anglers can fish for species like walleye, wiper, and catfish. Wildlife viewing is a highlight: with the Great Salt Lake to the west, the area serves as a stop for migratory birds, and the bay is an interesting birding destination, especially for bald eagles in winter. Ogden's historic 25th Street, Union Station, and the mouth of Ogden Canyon are all within a short drive for restaurant runs and resupply. Hikers can push into the Wasatch above town for trails toward Ben Lomond and Willard Peak. Willard Bay is only a few miles from the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge and 40 minutes from Golden Spike National Historic Site, and Antelope Island State Park is reachable as a day trip.

Willard Bay State Park campgrounds operate on a defined season. South Marina is open April through October and provides boat launching, seasonal boat slip rentals, and modern restrooms. Reservations run through the Utah State Parks system on ReserveAmerica, so plan around this window if hookups and full facilities matter. Summer is peak. Days routinely climb into the mid-80s and low 90s. The park is frequently sprayed for mosquito abatement during the summer, and bees and wasps often congregate near electrical pedestals. Lakeside sites fill early on summer weekends, and freeway noise from I-15 carries across the water at night. Higher-elevation Forest Service campgrounds in the surrounding Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest typically open late spring through September and can see snow into early season. Spring and fall bring cooler nights and thinner crowds. Rainfall is fairly even throughout the year, with May being the wettest month in the Ogden area. Winter shuts down developed camping at Willard Bay, and mountain campgrounds are inaccessible under snow.

South Marina offers 24 sites with full hookups for RVs, with picnic tables on grass behind each site. Sites are arranged in a circular parking lot style with grassy areas behind each spot containing picnic tables, meaning minimal separation between neighbors and limited shade. Willow Creek - Willard Bay State Park sites offer more tree cover on the north shore. Bring strong insect repellent in summer, and expect I-15 traffic noise at Willard Bay after dark. Cell service is reliable near the reservoir and in town but drops off quickly in the canyons above Willard Peak. Willard Peak Campground and other Forest Service sites are more primitive, at higher elevation, and can be cold overnight even in midsummer, so pack layers regardless of valley forecasts.
