Campgrounds and RV parks near Mayfield, UT

Mayfield sits in the Sanpete Valley of central Utah, with two Utah State Parks within an easy drive for RV travelers. Palisade State Park lies just outside the small town of Sterling, a short trip north, while Yuba State Park stretches along the Sevier Bridge Reservoir to the west. Both parks operate reservable campgrounds through the Utah State Parks system, booked through Reserve America on a four-month rolling basis for individual campsites. At Palisade, the Wakara loop is one of four campgrounds along Palisade Reservoir. The park offers a mix of accommodations, from standard no-hookup tent sites to sites with full hookups and sites without hookups, with electric, water, and sewer connections available on developed loops. Yuba Lake offers a different feel, with warmer water and sandy shorelines. Painted Rocks, Eagle View, Oasis, and Sandy Beach at Yuba Lake give RV renters a mix of developed and primitive options. Oasis is the most developed area with modern restrooms and showers, while Painted Rocks and Eagle View lean more primitive with vault toilets and open shoreline camping.

Both parks use the Utah State Parks reservation system through Reserve America. Individual campsite reservations can be made a minimum of two days in advance of arrival date and up to 4 months in advance, and group use reservations may be made up to 11 months in advance. Popular loops fill quickly, so lock in dates as soon as the window opens. For beach areas at Yuba, the reservation covers access rather than a specific pad. Camping along the North Beaches is open-shoreline style: a reservation grants access into the area, and campers choose their spot upon arrival. RV renters should note general stay limits and quiet hours. Length of stay is generally limited to 14 days within any 30-day period, though stay periods may be extended with permission from the park manager.
