Campgrounds and RV parks near Oakley, UT

Oakley sits in Summit County along the South Fork of the Weber River, about 45 minutes east of Salt Lake City and roughly 20 minutes from Park City. The town works well as a base for RV travelers because two Utah state park reservoirs sit within a short drive: Rockport to the north and Jordanelle to the south. Both parks anchor the local camping options. Rockport State Park sits at 6,000 feet elevation along the Weber River in Utah's Summit County, and the 1,080-acre Rockport Reservoir serves as the centerpiece for camping, boating, fishing, and water sports. Twin Coves - Rockport State Park and Juniper - Rockport State Park are two of the developed loops, with Juniper offering the most RV-friendly setup. Jordanelle State Park sits along the shores of the Jordanelle Reservoir and includes three distinct recreation areas: Hailstone, Rock Cliff, and Ross Creek. Hailstone - Jordanelle State Park is the large developed side geared to RVs, and Mchenry Creek - Jordanelle State Park is another loop within the same complex. Echo Island RV Resort in nearby Coalville rounds out the choices with a full-hookup private resort on the Weber River.

Utah State Parks handles reservations for both Rockport and Jordanelle through the Utah State Parks reservation site and its call center. Reservations can be made four months in advance for campsites and eleven months in advance for group campsites. Popular summer weekends often clear the moment the window opens, so setting a calendar reminder helps. For Rockport, Juniper - Rockport State Park is the loop to target if the RV needs power and water. Twin Coves - Rockport State Park offers standard sites with reservoir access. Cancellations do happen; checking the reservation site midweek can surface openings. Echo Island RV Resort is a private property and books directly through the operator rather than the state system. Bring the RV length, slide count, and hookup needs handy when booking so the site assigned actually fits the rig.
