Campgrounds near Pleasant View, Utah
Pleasant View sits in northern Weber County at the base of the Wasatch Range, minutes from Willard Bay and roughly 50 miles north of Salt Lake City. The area is a practical base for RV travelers exploring the Wasatch Front, the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, and Golden Spike National Historical Park, with easy I-15 access in both directions.
Most developed camping is clustered along Willard Bay, a freshwater reservoir on the flood plains of the Great Salt Lake. Willard Bay State Park operates two marinas, north and south, both with modern campgrounds, boat launches, restrooms, waterfront picnic areas, and docks. South Marina - Willard Bay State Park and Willow Creek - Willard Bay State Park handle most reservable sites on the west side of I-15.
Private options round out the mix. Willard Peak Campground offers full RV hookups, hot showers, and a laundromat at Highway 89 and 750 North in Willard, while Brigham City / Perry South KOA Journey sits south of Brigham City at the foot of the Wasatch. Century RV Park and Campground Motorhome Park serves travelers looking for a longer-stay park close to Ogden.
Things to do near Pleasant View
Willard Bay is the local anchor for water recreation, with boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing on its warm reservoir waters for walleye, crappie, wiper, and channel catfish. Stand up paddleboarding is popular in both marinas, and the state park is a well-known birding destination, including bald eagle viewing through the winter months.
Hiking options fan out into the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The Willard Peak trail from Willard Basin is a challenging out-and-back with clear ridge views of the valley on both sides, most passable from roughly March through November depending on snow.
Beyond the water and trails, families can visit the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, tour Golden Spike National Historical Park, and drive the Fruit Way along Old Highway 89 between Perry and Willard, where fruit stands operate seasonally through the harvest.

Summer is the peak RV season around Pleasant View. Willard Bay water temperatures are warm, and campground events and local festivals fill the calendar. Sites at Willard Bay State Park and the KOA book out well in advance for July 4, Pioneer Days in Ogden, and Brigham City Peach Days in early September, which draws visitors from across the region.
Spring brings cool nights and the wettest weather of the year, with April typically the rainiest month. Trails at higher elevations, including the road to Inspiration Point and Willard Peak, may still hold snow into late spring.
Fall is a quieter, cooler stretch with harvest traffic along the Fruit Way and strong migratory bird activity at the refuge. Willard Bay State Park's day-use reservation season runs Easter weekend through October 31, while winter shifts the emphasis to eagle watching at Willard Bay and to skiing at Ogden-area resorts, with private RV parks like Willard Peak Campground and Century RV Park remaining open year-round.

How to book sites near Pleasant View
Willard Bay State Park sites, including South Marina and Willow Creek, are reserved through the Utah State Parks reservation system on a four-month rolling window. On any given day, sites are available through the same date four months out, and reservations can be extended a maximum of 13 days beyond that window. Some sites may also be held for first-come, first-served use at the campground.
Brigham City / Perry South KOA Journey books through the KOA site or by phone, with RV and tent site cancellations requiring notice at least seven days before arrival, and cabins at least 14 days out. Willard Peak Campground and Century RV Park and Campground Motorhome Park take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. For holiday weekends and Peach Days, book several weeks ahead.
What to expect on the ground
State park campgrounds at Willard Bay sit under tall cottonwood trees near the water, with paved or gravel pads, restrooms, hot showers, and boat access. Water levels and fire bans can change with the season, and refunds are not issued for those changes, so travelers should check conditions before arrival. The park is frequently sprayed for mosquito abatement during the summer.
Private parks in the corridor lean toward pull-through RV sites with full hookups. Willard Peak Campground accommodates rigs up to 71 feet with flat gravel pads, laundry, and clean showers. Century RV Park sits right off I-15 with concrete pads, a pool, dog park, and laundry, though highway noise is noticeable. Layering is smart year round because day-to-night temperature swings of 20 degrees or more are common.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Pleasant View, UT
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Pleasant View, UT?
RV rental in Pleasant View is surprisingly affordable, with towable trailers averaging around $120 per night and motorhome rentals near Pleasant View hovering around $200 per night on RVezy. Most hosts offer 10 to 20 percent discounts on weekly and monthly bookings, so a 5 to 7 night Pleasant View RV trip is the sweet spot for value. For a cheap RV rental in Pleasant View, look at travel trailers if you already have a tow-capable SUV or truck, or filter for Class C motorhomes that sleep the whole family in one vehicle. Pro tip: book mid-September through early October when peak summer pricing drops but the Wasatch foothills are glowing gold with aspens.
visitogden.com/places-to-stay/camping-rv/Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Pleasant View, Utah?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Pleasant View for virtually every rig on RVezy. Utah only requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal vehicles with a combined weight over 26,001 pounds, and almost every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, and fifth wheel listed in the area falls well under that threshold. You'll need to be at least 25 years old with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the booking flow. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP), grab them from your local auto association before flying into Salt Lake City International, and you're cleared for takeoff.
dmv.utah.gov/register/vehicles/campers/Is RV rental in Pleasant View covered by insurance or a protection plan?
Every RV rental in Pleasant View booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head out toward Ogden Canyon with peace of mind. RVezy offers multiple protection tiers, and you (not the host) choose the level that fits your trip during checkout. Coverage helps with most physical damage to the RV, so if a rock kicks up on Trappers Loop Road or a branch scrapes the awning at Causey Reservoir, you have real financial backup. Review the tier details on RVezy's protection page before booking and pick the one that matches your comfort level.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Pleasant View RV trip plans change?
Booking an RV rental in Pleasant View is lower-risk than many guests expect. RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy, and there is a grace period after booking during which you can receive a full refund. Beyond that grace window, refund eligibility depends on how far out you are from your trip start date. You can review the full policy on RVezy's Help Center before you confirm your booking. Pro tip: lock in summer Pineview Reservoir weekends early, then relax knowing you have a clear, platform-wide refund path if plans shift.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Pleasant View?
Yes, pet-friendly RV rental in Pleasant View is easy to find on RVezy. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page to see hosts who welcome four-legged co-pilots, often with a small cleaning fee. Pleasant View is a great launchpad for dog lovers: leashed pups are welcome on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail just minutes from town, and North Fork Park in nearby Liberty has wide meadows and an off-leash area. Pineview Reservoir also allows dogs in designated non-swimming zones. Pro tip: message the host to confirm pet details, then pack a collapsible water bowl since the high-desert sun dries dogs out fast.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Pleasant%20View%2C%20UtahCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Pleasant View?
Yes, RV delivery in Pleasant View is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the rig directly to your campsite at Willard Bay State Park, Pineview Reservoir, or even your own driveway in Weber County, then level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system. You skip the stress of towing or maneuvering a 30-foot motorhome through Ogden traffic entirely. Use the Delivery filter when searching, message the host with your destination, and confirm the delivery fee, which typically scales with distance. Then just show up and start the campfire.
visitogden.com/places-to-stay/camping-rv/How far can I drive on an RV road trip from Pleasant View?
Pleasant View is one of the best RV launch pads in the Mountain West. Yellowstone's West Entrance is roughly 320 miles north (about 5.5 hours), Grand Teton National Park is around 290 miles, Arches National Park in Moab is about 290 miles south, Bryce Canyon is roughly 320 miles, and Jackson, Wyoming sits about 285 miles away. Most RVezy hosts in the area set a daily mileage allowance (often 100 to 150 free miles per day) with a per-mile fee beyond that, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer trips. Pro tip: if you're planning a big loop, message the host before booking to discuss a mileage package, many will bundle miles at a discount.
nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/westentrance.htmWhere are the best campgrounds near Pleasant View, UT?

Willard Peak Campground in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest offers high-alpine views about 30 minutes away. Anderson Cove Campground on Pineview Reservoir (about 25 minutes east through Ogden Canyon) has 71 sites and a swimming beach. Century RV Park in Ogden is a year-round full-hookup option just 10 minutes south. For something quieter, Magpie Campground up Ogden Canyon is a local favorite. Pro tip: reserve forest service sites on Recreation.gov up to six months in advance, Pineview books out fast for July weekends.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/233927When is the best time of year for a Pleasant View RV trip?
Late May through early October is prime time for RV camping in Pleasant View, with daytime highs in the comfortable 70s and 80s and cool mountain nights in the 50s. July is the warmest month, averaging around 84°F, while January dips to lows near 20°F with reliable snowfall. September is the local insider's pick: aspens turn gold up Ogden Canyon, crowds thin out at Pineview Reservoir, and campsite availability opens up. Winter rentals are available too if you're chasing powder at Powder Mountain or Snowbasin (both about 30 minutes away), just look for RVs with heated tanks. Spring shoulder-season trips (May) are gorgeous but pack rain gear for afternoon mountain storms.
forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.3182755&lon=-111.99216490000003I've never rented an RV before, will I get help figuring it out?
You're not going to be left guessing, and that's the whole point of renting through RVezy. Every host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup or delivery, walking you through the propane, water pump, slide-outs, awning, generator, and waste tanks step by step. You can also message your Pleasant View host directly from the listing page before booking to ask anything, from how to back into a Pineview Reservoir site to how the leveling jacks work. First time renting an RV? Choose a Class C motorhome or campervan rental Pleasant View hosts often recommend, they drive like a big van and park in normal campsites. RVezy support is also available 24/7 throughout your trip.
visitogden.com/places-to-stay/camping-rv/What happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
You are covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking in Pleasant View includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so whether you get a flat on US-89 heading toward Logan or the generator quits at Anderson Cove, help is one phone call away. Roadside assistance covers items like tire changes, jump starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service center. Your host is also a great first text for quick questions, as most are local to Weber County and know which Ogden shops service RVs. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV at pickup and save the RVezy support number to your phone before you leave the driveway.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Pleasant View RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate road trips are exactly what most renters do from Pleasant View, and Utah's location makes it a great hub. Idaho is about 40 minutes north, Wyoming and Yellowstone are an easy day's drive, and Arizona's red rock country is reachable in a long day. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and their coverage, so message the listing directly before booking if a cross-border trip is part of your plan. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: a classic RV road trip from Pleasant View is the Greater Yellowstone loop, north through Idaho, into Yellowstone and the Tetons, and back via Star Valley.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on an RV trip from Pleasant View?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, so plan smart. Class C motorhomes near Pleasant View typically get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, Class B campervans hit 18 to 22 mpg, and trucks towing travel trailers land around 10 to 14 mpg. With Utah gas prices generally tracking near or slightly below the national average, a 500-mile round trip to Moab in a Class C will run roughly $200 to $300 in fuel. Diesel motorhomes are more efficient but pricier per gallon. Pro tip: fill up in Ogden or Brigham City before heading into Logan Canyon or Bear Lake, prices climb noticeably at the small-town stations along US-89.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Pleasant View?
For the best campgrounds near Pleasant View, book early. Federal sites in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, including Anderson Cove and Magpie, open reservations six months ahead on Recreation.gov, and Pineview Reservoir sites sell out quickly for July and August weekends. Utah State Parks like Willard Bay and Antelope Island accept reservations through the Utah State Parks reservation system several months out. Private parks like Mantua Waterfront and Century RV are usually more flexible and often bookable a few weeks ahead. Pro tip: weekdays stay open even in peak summer, so a Sunday-to-Thursday Pleasant View RV trip can often be booked a week out and still land waterfront sites.
recreation.gov/What are the driving conditions like around Pleasant View?
Pleasant View sits at about 4,400 feet at the base of the Wasatch Mountains, so driving is straightforward in summer but takes attention in winter. I-15 runs north-south right past town with wide lanes ideal for motorhomes, while US-89 and SR-39 climb scenic but winding routes through Ogden Canyon (watch for tight turns and a posted 35 mph speed limit through the narrow section). Summer afternoon thunderstorms can bring sudden downpours, and winter storms from November through March can drop several inches of snow quickly, mountain passes like Trappers Loop sometimes require chains. Pro tip: avoid driving Ogden Canyon during weekend rush hours and never tackle Powder Mountain Road in a big rig, take the shuttle instead.
udot.utah.gov/connect/public/road-weather-alerts/What amenities do campgrounds near Pleasant View typically offer?
You'll find a great mix. Private parks like Mantua Waterfront RV Resort and Century RV Park offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), Wi-Fi, laundry, and showers. Forest Service campgrounds around Pineview Reservoir, including Anderson Cove and Magpie, usually have potable water spigots, vault or flush toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables, but most are dry camping (no hookups), so plan to use your RV's fresh water and battery. Dump stations and freshwater fills are available at Century RV Park in Ogden and the Maverik on Wall Avenue. Pro tip: top off fresh water in Pleasant View before heading into the canyon, as water spigots can be seasonal and shut off after mid-October.
fs.usda.gov/recarea/uwcnf/recarea/?recid=8642What features and amenities come with RV rentals in Pleasant View?
Pleasant View RV rentals on RVezy come well-equipped, often more than first-timers expect. Most Class C motorhomes and travel trailers include a queen bed, full kitchen with fridge/stove/microwave, bathroom with shower and toilet, dinette that converts to a bed, furnace, AC, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many hosts add TVs, generators, outdoor speakers, and even mountain-bike racks (popular here for Snowbasin trails). Campervan rental Pleasant View options are more compact but still include a bed, fridge, and cooking setup. Check the listing's amenities section for specifics and message the host if you need something particular like a kid's booster seat or a dog crate. Pro tip: confirm bedding and towels are included, some hosts charge a small linen fee.
visitogden.com/places-to-stay/camping-rv/What add-ons and pickup options are available for my RV rental?
Hosts in the Pleasant View area offer plenty of helpful add-ons to customize your trip. Common extras include camping chairs and tables, generators, propane fills, bike racks, kayak/SUP racks, kitchen kits, and linen packages, all listed with prices on the individual listing. Many hosts also offer delivery and setup (great if you're flying into Salt Lake City International, just 50 minutes south). Pickup is usually at the host's home in Pleasant View, Ogden, or North Ogden, with a thorough walkthrough included. Mileage policies vary by listing, so check whether your rental includes free miles or per-mile fees. Pro tip: use Instant Book filters if you want a quick confirmation rather than waiting on host approval.
visitogden.com/How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and handled entirely through RVezy, with no cash going to the host. You pay the rental total plus any add-ons and fees through secure RVezy checkout when you book. A refundable security deposit is also collected separately from the booking payment and is released after the RV is returned in the same condition. The exact deposit amount is shown on each listing before you book. Pro tip: do a quick video walkaround with the host at pickup and drop-off, this protects everyone and makes deposit release smooth. Return the RV clean, at the same fuel level, and with tanks handled per the host's instructions, and your deposit comes right back.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in Pleasant View during winter?
Yes, winter RV rental in Pleasant View is absolutely an option, and it's an underrated way to access world-class skiing at Snowbasin, Powder Mountain, and Nordic Valley, all within 35 minutes. Look for RVs listed as four-season or winter-ready with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and reliable furnaces, and plan to camp where you can plug into shore power since dry camping in sub-freezing temps is tough on water systems. Century RV Park in Ogden stays open year-round with full hookups. Pro tip: many ski-area parking lots allow daytime RV use but not overnight, so base camp at a hookup park and shuttle up to the mountain each day. Pack tire chains and check UDOT road conditions before mountain drives.
