Campgrounds and RV parks near Willard, UT

Willard sits at the base of the Wasatch Range in Box Elder County, about 50 miles north of Salt Lake City and 12 miles northwest of Ogden. The town borders Willard Bay, a freshwater reservoir separated from the Great Salt Lake by the Arthur V. Watkins Dam. The bay is the anchor for most local camping, with two state-park marinas and several private RV parks within a short drive. Willow Creek and South Marina at Willard Bay State Park are the main public options, offering developed sites with modern restrooms, showers, and hookups suitable for most RV classes. Willard Peak Campground, a privately managed RV park on Highway 89, sits less than a mile from the state park and takes larger rigs with full hookups. For travelers stopping between destinations, Brigham City / Perry South KOA Journey and Golden Spike RV Park in nearby Brigham City provide easy interstate access, laundry, and standard RV amenities. The area works well as a base for exploring Golden Spike National Historical Park and the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge.

Willow Creek and South Marina at Willard Bay State Park are reserved through the Utah State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica. Sites open on a four-month rolling window, so bookings become available roughly 120 days ahead of the arrival date. Phone reservations run through the state call center at 800-322-3770 on weekdays during business hours, closed on major holidays. Some state park sites are held back for first-come, first-served walk-ins, which can be useful midweek. Private options, including Willard Peak Campground, Brigham City / Perry South KOA Journey, and Golden Spike RV Park, book directly through their own websites or through KOA.com. Summer weekends and holidays should be booked well in advance.
