Campgrounds and RV parks near Buena, WA

Buena is a small farming community in the Lower Yakima Valley, roughly between Toppenish and Zillah in central Washington. The area sits in a dry, sunny basin east of the Cascades, surrounded by hop yards, vineyards, orchards, and the Yakima River corridor. It works well as an RV base for exploring Yakima Valley wine country, the Yakama Reservation, and day trips toward Mount Rainier and the White Pass area. RV options range from full-hookup private parks to a developed state park campground. Yakima Sportsman State Park sits along the Yakima River east of Union Gap and is the main public option during its March through October season, while Circle H RV Ranch, Yakima RV Park, Sunnyside RV Park, and SunTides RV Park cover the private side of the market with pull-through sites, laundry, and Wi-Fi typical of long-stay parks. Interstate 82 runs the length of the valley and links these campgrounds to Yakima, Sunnyside, Prosser, and the Tri-Cities, keeping drive times short between wineries, farm stands, and outdoor stops.

Yakima Sportsman State Park is managed by Washington State Parks and takes reservations through the state's official portal at parks.wa.gov or by phone. The reservation window opens on a rolling schedule several months in advance, and holiday weekends and summer Fridays and Saturdays sell out earliest. A Discover Pass is required for day use but is covered by the camping fee during an overnight stay. The park is closed to camping from November 1 through March 1. Private parks such as Circle H RV Ranch, Yakima RV Park, Sunnyside RV Park, and SunTides RV Park take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Many accept monthly stays and cater to work travelers, so weekly and weekend availability can tighten during harvest season and major Yakima events. Confirm rig-length limits and slide clearance when booking a big Class A.
