Campgrounds and RV parks near Lakeland South, WA

Lakeland South sits in Pierce County between Tacoma and Federal Way, putting RV travelers within a short drive of Puget Sound shoreline parks, the Mount Rainier foothills, and the urban services of the South Sound. The area is covered by both state-run campgrounds and private RV parks with full hookups, so families have options for either forested state-park sites or pull-through pads with utilities. On the saltwater side, Dash Point State Park sits on Puget Sound roughly 10 miles from town. It is a 461-acre park with 3,301 feet of shoreline that accommodates RVs and combinations of 32 feet or less. Saltwater State Park, set between Tacoma and Seattle, remains open for day use, but its campground is currently closed while the agency addresses flooding and erosion impacts. Inland, Majestic Manor RV Park in Puyallup and South Prairie Creek RV Park provide full-hookup sites, while Cran Mar RV Park rounds out the private options. These parks suit travelers who want power, sewer, and laundry on site rather than a tent-style state park experience.

Washington State Parks campgrounds, including Dash Point State Park, are reserved through the state's Washington Goes to Camp system at washington.goingtocamp.com or by phone at 888-CAMPOUT. Reservations can be made up to nine months in advance of the start date, and summer weekends at Dash Point routinely sell out, so booking early is recommended. Day-use vehicles also need a Discover Pass. Saltwater State Park is not currently accepting camping reservations. Private parks handle their own bookings. Majestic Manor RV Park, South Prairie Creek RV Park, and Cran Mar RV Park take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Last-minute availability is more likely at private parks than at state-run sites during peak season, and most accept big rigs with full hookups.
