Campgrounds near Liberty Lake
Liberty Lake sits in eastern Washington just off Interstate 90, roughly between Spokane and the Idaho state line. The area works well as a base for RV travel because commercial parks, a full-service county campground, and a state park campground all sit within a short drive of the freeway.
Liberty Lake RV Campground and the county-run Liberty Lake Regional Park Campground anchor the immediate area. The regional park offers 17 standard RV sites with water and electric, 3 premium RV sites with full hookups, 13 tent sites, 4 rustic dry cabins, and 1 group camping site. A few miles west, Spokane KOA Journey sits in Spokane Valley, roughly 10 miles east of Spokane City Center and 6 miles west of the Washington and Idaho state line, and Trailer Inns RV Park provides another in-town option closer to downtown Spokane.
For higher-elevation camping, Bald Knob at Mount Spokane State Park sits at 5,117 feet with 8 campsites, about an hour north of Liberty Lake. Amongst the Pines rounds out the mix as a smaller private option in the surrounding rural corridor.
Things to do around Liberty Lake
The lake itself is the main draw. Liberty Lake Regional Park is home to the only public swim beach on the lake, and the sandy beach is one of the most popular attractions within the park. The park also offers day-use picnic areas, a playground, a large picnic shelter, and miles of back-country trail, including the popular 8.3-mile Liberty Lake Loop Trail.
Off-highway riders have their own space nearby. The Liberty Lake ORV Park is a 350-acre park in eastern Washington next to Liberty Lake Regional Park, with approximately 16 miles of trails ranging from gentle to steep terrain for ATVs and motorcycles.
For higher-country hiking, Mount Spokane State Park is within reach. Over 100 miles of trail sprawl across Mount Spokane's 13,000 acres. Downtown Spokane, Riverfront Park, and the Centennial Trail along the Spokane River are all a short drive west on I-90.

Seasons drive what is open. The campground within Liberty Lake Regional Park is open seasonally from May through September. Bald Knob campground at Mount Spokane is open July 1 through September 15 with eight reservable standard sites and a restroom with running water but no showers. Commercial parks such as Liberty Lake RV Campground and Spokane KOA Journey generally operate year-round, which matters for shoulder-season trips.
Summer is peak season, with warm, dry days, open beaches, and full trail access. Fire restrictions can appear quickly during dry stretches, and Spokane County has issued burn bans in past summers that prohibited all open campfires while allowing propane cooking. Travelers should check current status before arrival.
Winter shifts the map. Every winter from December 1 through March 31, Mount Spokane becomes a Sno-Park; Sno-Park permits are required during this time and the Discover Pass is not. Snow, ice, and unplowed access roads limit RV options at higher elevations, so most winter RV stays stay near the valley floor.

Had a wonderful experience with Danielle and Rocky! Everything was in order exactly as they said and it was perfect for our family. The trailer is clean and well taken care of, and met all of our needs. They were so friendly and quick to communicate and answer my questions. We definitely hope to rent the trailer again next summer! Thanks for everything!
