Campgrounds and RV parks near Midland, WA

Midland is an unincorporated community in Pierce County, sitting between Tacoma and Puyallup in the South Puget Sound region. Its location puts RV travelers within a short drive of Puget Sound beaches, the Washington State Fair grounds in Puyallup, downtown Tacoma, and the western approaches to Mount Rainier National Park. The nearby camping options span private RV resorts and Washington state parks. Majestic Manor RV Park in Puyallup offers full hookups east of Midland and works well as a base for exploring the Tacoma metro. Gig Harbor RV Resort sits across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and gives quick access to the Kitsap Peninsula. Dash Point State Park, north of Midland on the Puget Sound shoreline, combines forested campsites with saltwater beach access. Saltwater State Park lies a bit farther north near Des Moines, though its campground is currently closed for camping operations. Camp Lakeview rounds out the closer options for groups and family stays. Most travelers use Midland as a logistical hub: easy interstate access via I-5 and SR 167, full-service grocery and supply stops, and same-day reach to several state and national parks.

Washington state parks, including Dash Point State Park, are booked through the state's reservation system at washington.goingtocamp.com or by phone at 888-CAMPOUT. Reservations open up to nine months in advance, and summer weekends at Dash Point fill quickly. A Discover Pass is required for day-use vehicle access at state parks, though campers' nightly fee covers entry during their stay. Saltwater State Park's campground is currently closed, so the day-use lot is the only on-site access. Mount Rainier's Cougar Rock Campground takes reservations through Recreation.gov on a rolling six-month window that opens at 7 a.m. Pacific. White River Campground is entirely first-come, first-served, with payment via the Recreation.gov Scan-and-Pay app. Private parks such as Majestic Manor RV Park and Gig Harbor RV Resort are booked directly with the property. For peak summer dates, book private full-hookup sites several weeks ahead.
